  • What AU Course do we Replay? - The Runoff

It looks like the two ideas with the most support are Total Eternal Forever War and The Power of Fascism (replaying Power of Communism with a different target government). So how about if we have a runoff between those two ideas and then start playing?

I prefer the Power of Fascism because it's less difficult, more fun, and original. I would play either, though.

The Power of Fascism for the reasons Dominae mentioned.

Adding my vote for Power of Fascism for similar reasons.

Why not Spain instead ? Historically just as acurate, and maybe less sensitive..

Why not Spain? Well, it can't combine a Golden Age with War Time Mobilization and a powerful UU. And why would it be less sensitive? Fascism is not a nice government form, no matter who does it.

I won't play another Eternal War Forever. My reputation, you know...

Why not The Power of Money? The goal would be to cash in the maximum of gold (50'000, then 75, then 100).

Of course, we have to set a few rules, as to build all buildings asa as they are available and to finish the game in a certain time frame.

For the rest, it would be a free for all game. Go Democracy or Fascism, play a small civ or go conquer, every startegy would be open. The 'winner' would be the one with the most gold for a win on a certain date (somebody would fix up some nice equation to do this).

                The most obvious civ: France.

The idea of a game where the object is to collect gold seems too artificial to me. The importance of money is not in hoarding it for its own sake, but rather in what you can buy with it. In general, if you're building up a big hoarde of gold, you aren't using gold wisely.

Wow... I am really surprized. After Theseus and Dominae voted for Power of Fascism 10 people voted for it in runoff

So which civ would we play? Gemans? Americans? (we have not played americans yet in AU if I am not mistaken)

                      who will do the map?

hey, I like both ideas, but I'll try and make it less one-sided...
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

There was the peacekeeping game, with Americans as the Peacekeepers. I don't recall an AU game with Germany, though.

The Give Peace A Chance course was played with the Americans, the Power of Communism with the Germans.

Since players were not allowed to build any military units with the Americans the first time around, I think this is a prime opportunity for AU to test out the least-used UU, the F-15.

Assuming, of course, that the Power of Fascism wins the vote.
