well, it is already 10 to 3 in favour... Let's start

    Edit:
BTW, I am already have a map for this game. Not as devious as Dominae's or Alexman's, but devious enough.
Probably, I better send it to Dominae or Alexman because I do not have the latest AU mod (with L/H Cavalry and other stuff) and am not a panel member (some canges to AU mod might be needed, like no forced resettlement for Fascism).

I was thinking I wasn't going to be playing this course, but game with the Americans, especially one putting me in the prime position to use F-15. I don't think I've ever played a serious game as the Americans.

Errr... Dom sorta nominated me to own the map for this one , which is fine; as the psycho-goggled-faced-one points out, I am well and truly due to be the MapMaker.

pvzh, send me what you have, and I will tweak it as needs be... I am at richard ta podos tod net.

I sent it with some explanations why I did and what I did.

I hope I interpreted your address correctly. Post something here if you got it or not.

Got it, pvzh... I'll play around with it later today, and start the course thread either tonight or tomorrow.

I like pvzh's map, albeit with a few tweaks.

He has made the following suggestions as well:

                1. Disable culture flips - I disagree

                2. Light and Heavy Cavalry - I agree

                3. Unit support at 0/1/1+18 for Republic and Democracy - I agree for Demo, but not for Republic

                4. SoZ and Knights Templar act barracks - I quite agree, and suggest we consider this as a permanent change to the AU Mod

If I could get some quick feedback on these issues, I'll go ahead and set up the game and get a new thread posted.

There is a choice in the editor that effectively makes a given improvement/Wonder a Barracks... thus any units produced in that city are vets.

pvzh pointed out to me in an email that the AI civs do not build Barracks as much as would be desired, and that this is negatively compounded by cities that have the SoZ or Knights Templar (i.e., the AI's free units are coming out as regs and not vets).

I think that the benefit of AI civs sending out free vets WAAAAY outways the savings of not building a Barracks for the human player.

I like that you agree with most of the stuff.

I disable culture flips because I hate how they implemented and the fact that you need absolutely unrealistic number of units to prevent the flip. (IMHO you should not need more than 1 unit per population to prevent the flip under any circumstances). However, I can see a merit in having them: player would not stick cities too close to AI cities.

BTW, in the scenario I have sent I took liberty to remove Forced resettlement flag from Fascism: I think it is not needed. If human needs this goverment, population loss in the time of RR/electricity will be made up very quickly by the player, but, if AI choses this goverment for any reason, it will loose far more due to bad mangement of the food production and population points.

Ah, Pavel, that is a big change to make (i.e., forced resettlement), as Nathan and Alex are so ably arguing.

I think I'll let all of this sit a day or so before getting going.

The light and heavy cavalry issue has been voted on and passed 4-0 out of those who voted. So that change definitely belongs.

I'll go ahead and call for votes on the governmental issues (improving free support for Republic/Democracy and eliminating Forced Resettlement). I'll also go ahead and call for a vote on adding the "Veteran ground units" flag to SoZ and Knights Templar, modifying the voting procedure a tad to accommodate the need for speed. We can start the game as soon as those issues are resolved, but please wait until they are.

                                Forced resettlement = no

Thats a big part of Facism and I think we should play it and comment

Whats the point of improving free support for Rep/Dem? In the context of we are playing a game where we are in Fascism? I guess I dont get it?

And yes on the barracks flag for SoZ and Knights templar
