  • Aussie Group 5: Another happy evening of multiplaying

I suppose the main development in the last thread was the addition to our *cough* happy *cough* band of Trev and Holmes. A very pleasing thing to see the group of regular players expanding again

And we should have makeo back in Australia before too long - if his ex girlfriend doesn't kill him first

Plus the cricket season ends soon, which should mean Hydey is more available to play civ. I know, like Steve Waugh, he's facing some big decisions about his playing future, though he probably doesn't know it himself yet. He'll have the whole winter and hopefully many happy hours of civ to nut it out and, well, retire. Either that or use the time to re-invent himself as one of those paunchy ageing spin bowlers beloved of the lower grades that constitute all that remains of many a fine batsman.

Nice of you to welcome the new players considering you didn't want to play with them...

It's only because of my sense of fair play that we inlcuded SR in last nights game.

Horse tried to bully everyone into another 4 way game that he wanted to play, ignoring all my comments in icq about including SR and ignoring the principle that Horse espouses of playing a game for all those that show.

What would our threads be without some bizarre deity tittle tattle

I sent this message to Horse and the Aussie group at 9:48PM...

        "OK, we are free now
        which game??
we have finbar, AH, me, Trev and SR"

Nothing could have been clearer but Horse just sends out the IP to the players in the 4 way without including SR.

But then I sent at 9:58PM...

"horse is not talking to me.
He arrogantly loaded a 4 way without discussion or considerartion of SR.
We play with who shows is the rule"

        ---

You can try and joke about this episode but there is an insidious undercurrent here that leaves a nasty taste in my mouth and spoils the fun. I love all the sledging and so on but as *friends* and with serious issues we should be able to clearly communicate in an appropriate manner and make fair group decisions.

Is that the best you can offer?

How about a bit of honesty Horse?

You knew exactly what you were doing last night.

I don't mind the kidding around but wasting another 20 mins by just ignoring honest and direct communications is plain rude and arrogant.

Basically it seems to take a positive effort on the part of others before you to respond to any sort of democratic process. But this effort takes time.... wasted time.

Wherever there's snow. The Scottish Highlands probably.
