The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics assures the United States of America that we have no intention of threatening the United States. "Communism if not your enemy, but rather your fear of Communism has created your fear and hate toward us." the Soviet chairman said in an address to the American president. The chairman also announced a formal invitation by the USSR to the USA to come to Dresden for a summit regarding the future of Haiti. "You have nothing to fear but fear itself." the Soviet chairman added, assuring the United States that the new situation in Haiti poses no threat to the United States.

NATO Chairman Manlio Brosio warned the USSR: Be advised that the Free World will not accept any step further. This is the situation where the line is drawn. Till here but not further. Be warned theat the Free World will neither tolerate nor accept any further expansion of the USSR and its Warsaw Pact Allies.

The USSRwishes to remind NATO and the United States of the Atlantic Charter that Britain and the US signed in 1940 which fully granted the people of each nation the right to choose their own government. If the people of Haiti decide they wish to have a Socialist regime, under your treaty you must accept it, just as we will accept whatever decision they may make, including one to have a capitalist regime in the area. We can discuss the matter further in the summit to which you are invited (pm me).

Uh, Emu, can you produce documentation of the Haitian people requesting that the Cuban communists install a regime there which is verifiable by an independent organization?
By the way, SEATO firmly believes in the Monroe Doctrine, and what many are calling the Chancellor Doctrine, which are that communism will not be allowed to expand beyond its 1962 borders (excluding Persia and Afghanistan) in the Americas and East Asia, respectively.

The forces moved in as peacekeepers to prevent the MExicans from further expansion. If you will notice they also invaded El Salvador. The Haitan people will be allowed to choose their government as the fighting ends. The USSR would like to remind the world that Nicaragua represented by Managua is a Soviet ally and that if it falls into Mexican hands, the USSR will take steps to liberate it. Just what is wrong with Communism beside the fact that you don't agree with it? Who are you to impose on the people of South East Asia and Latin America your government style. Do not start claiming we do not respect other countries' right to choose their governments when you yourselves do not do the same. Israel contains the kibbutz, a Communist system of life. Why can you accept Israel with Communism and not any other place? Your anti-communist feelings have blinded you to the fact that both can live together in peace. The USSR has repeatedly invited all the capitalist powers to join it in a summit to discuss the future of Haiti, because WE CAN live in peace, but you have chosen thus far rather to make threats at us and not to speak to us directly. That is your choice, but history will remember and appropriately judge your actions.

Uh, Emu, hate to do this, but this is what, 1965? Anastasio Somoza, a US ally, is still in power in Nicaragua, which probably ought to be an independent city, but oh well. Somoza will be overthrown by the Sandinistas in about ten years...Damn Mexicans...
BTW every people in our nations has the choice to support a communist regime if they get enough of a majority, which is more than can be said for your nation. The simple fact is that the majority of South East Asians do not believe in communism and support a tough foreign policy against it.

So the people have the choice, but you beleive in a doctrine that does not allow its expansion. That's hypocritical and you know it. To say it can expand but then to say you won't let it is the same as outlawing it altogether. At least that way you wont have to use propoganda on the socialists in your country to make them think they might be able to make changes in your country.

Emu, you seem to experience a gap in your understanding of the organization of a democracy:
Most South East Asians are anti-communist, thus the policy of SEATO as its elected government is to be anti-communist. If enough pro-communist people organize, they will elect pro-communist representatives, who, if in the majority, will be able to set a friendlier policy. It is not hypocritical, it is fair.
