It's comments like this that remind us that you seldom have a clue what you're talking about.

Given the ample evidence we have observed I hardly think we needed reminding.

Yeah, but this time, he did it in less than 10,000 words so I actually read it all.

Well, we tried a game or two of ptw, it wasn't that bad, but lots of freeze ups, sometimes units wouldn't move, and you need to get the setting the way you like them. It still doesn't have that exciting feeling at the opening that II has.
                More testing will be needed.

                      • YES, that was the last one we tried, It did play better, but we still have to turn off the turn clock. With all the lag, it went way to quickly. Some turns, I was only able to move one unit before it expired. We'd like to play quickly, but that was a bit much

                        • Rah,

You and Ming have been at PTW for over a week at least now. What's the verdict? The best thing since sliced bread (the Civ2MP variety) or christmas turkey?
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

                            • Actually I've only had a chance to try a couple of duels with War4. So I don't want to form an opinion on insufficient sampling. It showed some promise, but it still didn't have the same buzz of excitement of II. (Like 3 out of the first 4 huts I opened just gave me the locals map. Oh BOY)
We need to try a few different setting before we really have a decent game.
