  • Not a bad attempt, Sneak, but it has a touch of the contriveds about it.

Apart from that - "back blocks" doesn't really crack a guernsey in the venacular; "niggly" certainly doesn't; "barnie" does, but it's spelled "barney", and "stink" is probably a better choice anyway; and "thick ear" is used more as a perjorative - as in, "talk about a thick-ear", meaning someone of not only low IQ, but anti-intellectual. And "tinnies" is hardly ever used, except by "thick ears". "Veged out" - well, it's acceptable.

My favourites, as I think I've posted before, are the old rural expressions - "Windy enough to blow a dog off its chain" and "So hungry I could eat a horse and chase the rider".

    • Of course if he used "niggling feeling" instead of "feeling niggly" it would have been much improved

                • Yo, peep this: You guys are cut off! I try to be down with your little lingo and you hate on me. Your wack slang isn't half as fierce as the American version. Y'all need to slam your pie holes and quit your perma-fried ways. I'm going to go postal here in a second. You need to be giving me my props for even trying, not putting the beat down on me. You know I'm the bomb--hella best friend you have here, bar none. But here you are, treating me like a tool and I'm all torn down about it. You know how I get when I'm torqued--don't be telling me my slang is weak--you've got me all watered now. The next sound outta your word-hole better be "kick-ass try, Sneak". In the meantime, I'm just going to do my 9 to 5 and keep it real.
                  Peace out!

Based on the post immediately above this one, I can only wholeheartedly endorse Horse's earlier comment.

                            • Was Sneak trying to affect an African American style?
