Kirk's Plan Allays Worst of Rioting

The great majority of riots in the European Empire ceased upon the announcement of the details of Provisional PM Kirk's Decentralisation Plan. The continental masses immediately began organising more local governments, and even made plans for elections, with many continental parties holding meetings with corresponding British parties, looking to align themselves and in some cases, merge.
All was not calm everywhere though. There were still reports of some violence in medium sized German cities, as well as by rabblerousers in Ireland. Downing Street issued a statement blaming the continued violence on perpetual dissidents, and those who had nothing better to do than destroy property and undermine common values.

            Advancement in Spain
Following a joint operation, the Navy and War Ministries announced the capture of Malaga today. Following massive shore bombardment, the under nourrished, and undertrained garrison defending the city relented, thus setting the stage for the final assault to capture the entirity of Andalusia.

Declaration of War and Invasion of Austria

The Russian Empire has been too lax and now has corrected this. An invasion of Austria has been launched and all of its heart is under Russian control.

Now first we need an explanation for this agression:

Austria Broke the Treaty of Berlin!

1- Austria while withdrawing from Germany destroyed all the temples/cathedrals in an attempt to hamper the Entente's re-development of the area. In the end it caused the collapse of government in London if those German cities had had their happiness improvements, there would be no turmoil in the UK now.

2- Austria kept the German Army In doing so it broke a fundamental clause of our treaty and jeopardized European peace. Now Austria might claim that it was acting in self defense, but they had to disband the army before Italy and France made threatening gestures, so she knowingly violated the treaty.

With that Russia issues a declaration of war and an immediate surrenderance of arms by the Austria government.

                • I was talking to Vincent (Cyrion) and he and i thought it interesting to have a scenario based on conflicts eslewhere e.g. if you settle disputes in far away lands not conquering the whole nation in one go and leaving it with colonies... having the Nation not able to be conquered, so you have to send forces to the 'hot spots' sound good?

'Sorry but Empire Building gets boring, same with this PBEM coz you can predick what happens, sorry Anzac i knew all along...'

                  lol

So what about that for an idea?

                    War Again!

                    Vatican Confirms Reperations Money Looted

Following the Russian revelation of the Austrian's desecration of churches, the Italian government consulted the Vatican over the money and items Austria had presented as reperations. The Vatican confirmed that many of the valuable items were in fact stolen from German churches.

This fact was further confirmed by the Italian treasuries records.
These records show that in November 1902 the remnants of Germany/Austro-Hungary had 33 gold in the treasury, yet despite the destruction of the nation, the Austrian treasury grew to 391 gold by the start of January 1902!

King Case was reported to have been 'sickened' when he learnt that his government had recieved dirty money.

                    Split taken

Following a bombardment by the recently repaired battleship Sicilia Italian marines landed and stormed the city of Split. Casualties were reported as light, and troops are pushing inland.

                    Combat off La Palma

In a surprise raid, a Spanish destroyer slipped out of La Palma and sank the troop ship Genoa, which was returning to Italy. An Italian armoured cruiser managed to intercept and sink the destroyer before it could return to its base.

France enraged at the broken peace
The Premier Winterfritz today took the podium in Paris, and announced that he was furious at the rash Italian and Russian invasion of Austria.

'Perhaps there has been a violation of the Berlin Treaties,' he said, 'and if so, I am just as angry with the Austrian authorities as the Tzar and King Case. However, such suspicions call for an investigation by all the nations involved, rather than an on-the-spur-of the-movement and ill-concieved invasion.'

The Premier labelled Russian and Italian aggression as a violation of the Berlin Treaties 'tenfold more serious than some demolished churches' and demanded that Russian and Italian units withdrew immediately.

His statements seem to echo the sentiments of all France; all over the country, the people were protesting the naked aggression of their former allies, and the Tsar was burnt in effigy in Nice.

PM Kirk Condemns Invasion of Austria, Demands Return to Prewar Borders

Prime Minister Kirk today was aghast at the news that Russia had broken the fragile peace in Europe by unilaterally going to war with decimated Austria rather than seek a peacable solution through arbitration with the other powers. Kirk declared that "any disputes Russia had with Austria should have been dealt with internationally rather than unilaterally, and proposed a peace conference involving all European powers to iron out the irregularities of the Berlin Treaty." Kirk also added that "Russia would be well to do to leave British domestic affairs out of its laundry list of hastily conceived excuses for aggressive action."
The Tsar was not alone in being condemned, Austria was as well for being a "group of upstarts trying to toy with the big boys and getting their hands too full," and for keeping offensive arms without firm support from ALL nations interested in the peace.
With the condition that prewar borders were reestablished, Kirk hinted that Britain may support more reparations on Austria in lieu of territory. But such an agreement would have to be agreed on multilaterally by all Continental powers. Kirk also offered to house peace talks in Malta, open to all nations, in which all issues would be resolved with finality, so as to preserve the peace.

Thanks, but no thanks says King

King Case has turned down the British government's offer of mediation. In a press statement just released the King says that "While the British offer is well indented, Mr Kirk must remember that the last time we recieved reperations from the Austrians they gave us dirty money stolen from the church. As a result, this time Italy will extract reperations from the soil and, if resistance continues, blood of the godless Austrian people!"

                          • The Austrian Government Conmends Attacks
As the Russian and Italy Hordes raced across the Hungarian Plains and Trisente Foot Hills, the Austrian Troops opened firing with Rifle and a new weapon call 'maxium gun' and was 'very efective'. Although de-moralized for the way French and British Sold them out, The Austrian Amry fights with a new will against all odds, and will surive and Live Long.

                            Offical Statement
The Austrian Forces only have Conscripts not Artillary or Cavalry, if hellp from Britian or France does not come, help is lost!

Also no churches were sold when the Austrian 'turn' came round her taxes were 80% and i sold things like librarys out of my own cities, nothing was touched outta of the German Occupied Cities.

The Austrian Government does not understand why there is war if there is no reason... Italian/ Russians are as bad as the Huns, Blood Thristy, Uncivilized and Hungary for WAR!!

                            • The Sultan, His Magnificence Abd ul-Hamid II fully backs His Ally and Friend, M. Kirk, PM of the British Empire!!

The agression on Austria MUST stop at once: maybe Austria did betray the other nations by selling improvements, but searching the corpse for evidence is no way to find whether one is guilty or not!!

Some of the money allegedly coming from churches might even have been given by the Ottoman Empire in return for some techs!!

Grand Vizier Cyrion will go to Malta to join the International Comitee. The future of Austria, as far as it still can have one, and of the whole Europe has to be discussed to avoid such slaughters in the years to come.
