Welcome to C.N.N. bringing you the latest coverage in the five year-long patriotic struggle against U.A.S. aggression.
As most viewers know five years ago during the quick South American campaign by the Australian military against the Zulu’s; the U.A.S.’s long awaited declaration of war against the peaceful Republic of China. Due to a clerical error in Chinese Foreign policy China then assumed W.A.A.R. was going to attack Chinese holdings in North America however this was soon cleared up and peace was resumed between W.A.A.R. and China.
The U.A.S. wasted no time attacking and taking the cities of Beijing, Canton and Nanking, the republics three oldest cities. Falling to the Mongolian Hordes, the Chinese Generals just waited for their chance for a counter offensive.
The Chinese counter offensive began on March 1 1648 with a barrage of cruise missiles to the cities of New Oz City, Laos, and Sapporo. Paratroopers dropped into the cities of New Oz City and Laos and the Chinese Flag was raised. When asked what the purpose of taking Laos was a top General replied, “The Aussies needed a beachhead in Southeast Asia, since they have agreed to aid in our defense we were more than happy to provide.”
Then the ground battle began taking Sapporo with relative ease then forces stationed in Asia with forces from America retook the cities of Beijing, Canton, and Nanking. The Chinese offensive did not stop there however as China took the city of Mongolia formally known as Shanghai from long ago when the Chinese controlled and built it.
General Tao of the Asian Command said, “If we had more transport power and a few of our American Divisions hadn’t taken a wrong step off the beaten path we would have grabbed another two or three cities”
Due to lack of transportation a situation that is planning to be fixed with in the next five years the historical reserves were called up to sacrifice there lives for the country moving in to Mongolian territory to cut rail lines and basically make trouble for the Mongolians. Along with the historical reserves the American Paratrooper divisions landed on Asian soil and moved into defensive positions alongside the Mech infutry and Alpine troops.
The smaller Mongolian city of Yakut SSR was lost in the fighting as cruise missiles took out the Alpine division covering a Pheasant followed by the pounding of a Howitzer.
President Prometheus who won the elections due to the crisis propelling people to stay with a President they know has offered the U.A.S. a peace treaty. Many elements of the far right C.G.P. have condemned this move saying it shows weakness, one of the more prominent member’s Adolph Hitler was quoted as saying “The war against the U.A.S. should be… conducted with unprecedented, unmerciful, and unrelenting harshness…. This should be a war of extermination.”
However most polling show that the Chinese people are ready for peace if the Mongolian leaders want it however they want it on Chinese terms. When asked if the People’s Republic could maintain a war against Mongolia for much longer the government line is “When we were at our darkest hour and the Mongols had conquered our three cities we still where number two in production and second in GNP if we continue the war we will win. “ Most in the government and the country hope for peace but we are unsure of the state of the Mongolian leadership.
C.N.N. has discovered a few unconfirmed rumors that have received no official government standing.
-At the Paratrooper training faculty in Fort Xin there is a lot of activity going on as Bomber fleets can be heard over head during the night… most of the trainees there say they believe that they will be participating in an attack on the city of Ghent as soon as next year.
- A small fishing boat has reportedly seen what he amounts to anywhere between 4 and 7 divisions of attack helicopters in the southern pacific many believe that another front will soon open on the south China coast sustained by cruise missiles and helicopters.
- -A unit of the Special Forces has apparently entered the Mongolian city of North Mongolia and sabotaged howitzer production there.
