European Secretary of State
The Honorable V. Rossi
1515 Churchill Way
Berlin, Germany

TO: The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China.
FROM: The Honorable Vittorio A. Rossi, European Secretary of State.

Dear sirs;

We would like to apologize for the words used by our representatives to Australia, Israel and the Zulus as it concerns the affair in the Turkish highlands. It was extremely rude of us and our choice of words was very immature indeed.

China stands as a beacon of peace, it is the only nation that has yet to fire a shot at an enemy, the only nation that has yet to experience a real enemy, and this is no doubt due to its peaceful and productive nature.

We can only emote our great sorrow for saying such things about a great nation and a great people, and hope that one day we will be forgiven for our violent and ignorant choice of words.

Thank you for your time, and your patience.

Secretary of State,

Vittorio Antonin Rossi

• Field Marsholl Sylvestor Stallone switched of the Television he had been watching and turned to the rest of the High Council.
"So what do we make of this?"

Secretary of State and acting High Council Chief Benjamin Disraeli stood and got the attention of the Council.
"Well after much propoganda I think they have agreed to our terms. They wont enter the DMZ."

"Yes very hard to get to the facts from them isnt it" stated Councilor Palatine "They like the sound of their own voices. But I agree, they basically stated the DMZ is to be re-estblsihed."

"Finally we can move on. Now we need to setup some form of observation to make sure the DMZ is always empty."

Air Marsholl Judah Abrams stood up and smiled " We can use the new ReCON plane. It can circle the DMZ and report any incursions, that way we dont have to send any troops in to do the inspections. Of course we will open the air corridors for any EU ReCON planes to do the same. But heaven forbid if they send any other planes up!!"

"Agreed Air Marsholl. Send word to the EU stating our intent and how we aim to monitor the situation.

• Saul thumps his fists together.

How did they do it? Everyone thinks they are our b1tch but they are surpassing our production levels and have many less units to support. AND they keep sending their damn caravans and making a ton of Science and Trade. I'm getting crapped off now. Just send that Uranium freight from Kalgoorlie to Beijing and see what it returns. If it's pitiful we ban ALL trade from Foreign civs. As we all know it's the quality of the receiving city that generates the benefits...

Hmmm, but I must not be too hasty. They are long time friends...

BUT they showed their TRUE colours when we wanted Atomic Theory. After gifting them techs for eons they wanted TWO techs in return for AT. They should have gifted it, as true frinds would have. WE would have. They did mend their ways soon after that and gifted us GW.

But now they are the second biggest civ in the world with the biggest production base, no conflicts, and riding on our cashflow and techs.

Take it easy.... we need friends.... Those Zulus got it so wrong. Fancy thinking we were in bed with them...

---

Saul was muttering this late one night.

And with Paul so ill he felt the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Saul was historically a peaceful man but his wife's visions and all the current wrangling was bugging him.

I aint shifting those peacekeepers. Bugger them. Next thing they'll all be crying out for a stabilising force. But must not upset WAAR too much.

Don't care about the EU...
Or the Zulus, or the Mali....
UAS are good friends still.

Ahh, nice to have fanciful private thoughts... I'm going to test out those Zulus. They are the first threat, then Mali and EU are a joke.
The rest are currently friendlyish...

But friends aside, in real terms the Zulus and China are the big dangers.
Then WAAR and UAS.

Oh the pressure, the pressure... I wonder how the Medici of old would have handled this era with our nation?

WE battled them but Oh dear they fought like true fighters like we've never seen since... That was touch and go in the Central American area way back then and really, they were right. We had planned on building a city in Sicily and their bravery and courage and intuitive skills saved them. A lesser leader would have been fooled. An airbase in Europe is just what we need now.....

• Inaugral Speech

The new President Gough Whiteman sat patiently on the stage. Before him was gathered over 20,000 of his fellow country men and women. The people who had voted him in to his current position. He looked up to the left of the stage, there was the portraits of all the past leaders of Israel/FDP/WAAR. Yes, large shoes he had to fill following some of them. The members of the High council, the nations chief source of wisdom, were all giving speeches. After they were finished h ewould get his chance. The High Council members were a heredity position and although they at times had power, the President was now the bearer of the ultimate power. He knew one of his main roles was to fill the position of High Council Chief. As Presidnet he had the power to remove all the High Council, but it was the only continous line of leadership throughout his nations history. Even when the Dicatators of Adolf hitler and Rabbi Rasputin took over, the high Council continued to exist. And now they were giving him the power to rule. This had been his ambition since joining the Labour party. To get a working class man elected. His policies would see the liberation from tyranny of the working man. The nation may be free of tyranny after Democratic elections were held, but ill corporations were made to deal fairly with its workers, the people would not be truly free.

He smiled as he looked to the dais and saw that the High council Diploamtic Advisor was finalyl concluding her speech. She had spoken of establishing embassys with all other nations and rebuilding our tarnished reputation. President Whiteman knew that the dreams of this young woman were not going to come to pass. Perhaps , though he thought, sh emight make some of his dreams come true!

Finally she finished speaking and the crowd cheered. Benjamin Disraeli rose and started to introduce the President. He went on about Gough's working class background and his rise to leader of the Labour Party. He turned to the PResident and called for th epeople to welcoem their new President.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, President Whiteman."

Loud cheers and applause.

The President strode confidently to the dias and waved to the crowd. Slowly they settled down and he waited for quiet.

"My fellow Western Asians and Americans. I am proud to stand here beofre you as your President. We have come so far from th ehumble beginnings afforded to our nation. From a few Jews crowded together in Jerusalem to the huge nation we are now. I dont think anyojne would have predicted we would be in the top 3 of most of the worlds demographics. We have the past leaders of our nation to thank for that." He slowly turned and pointed to the portarits around the stage. "Give these people a clap now, they deserve it"

A standing ovation was given for the past leaders.

"Thankyou for that. Without the tough decisions made by many of these people we would not be here today. And from their solid foundations we now need to grow more. We need to make sure the wealth of our nation is spread to all, not jsut the few. With more money in the workers pockets, the workers will feel rewarded and productivity will increase. My aim for the term of my office is that this nation will increase productiviy from Number 2 to Number 1 in the world. We will also increase total production to number 3. We will raise the per capita income to number 1. Population will increase to number 2. Whilst achieving this we are going to get our total pollution make down to 0. This will be hard to do, but I beleive it is achievable. We will all need to pull together to achieve all this. Including in my aims is my desire for world peace. I desire that no nation during my stay in office would feel the need to take to arms. But due to the very nature of mankind we wont allow our guard to fall, and we will maintain a well trained and modernised military. To protect our frontiers some new Forts will be built and our main priority will be the upgrading of our airforce.

I thankyou all again for the resposibilty you have given me and hope I can live up to your high expectations"

The crowd erupted into massive cheering and applause. The new President smiled and waved, he knew he had a huge task ahead but felt the team he had selected were fully capable.

LOL. At least Deity actually REMEMBERS Medieval Adriatic History, the Medici were dogged fighters!

One nation fighting the Asian Alliance single-handedly, and oh yeah Raz the true fighters he speaks of were the people that YOUR nation betrayed very horribly, so the era he speaks of is when you got your "distrustful" moniker. Strangely enough its the same for Europe, before the Great War we were well trusted.

But at least Australia finally stated what their true intentions were and with it basically admitted they started the Great War. Ahh, now if only the US can fess up about Kennedy we'd be getting somewhere...

• Valencia, Spain; European Union...

Admiral Francisco Franco walked along the deck of the EUS Metternich, the largest European Battleship created to patrol the Mediterranean, the government had already ordered the constrution of four more similar models.

He walked towards the captain's chamber past a large line of Sailors and Marines who were stationed on the ship in the Valencian harbor. The press was present, thus he had to make at least one show for the civilians, he approached a random Marine...

The Marine standing at attention listened as Admiral Franco asked "What is your name, rank and corps?"

"Otto Herzog, Private, European Marine Corps. Sir!" he barked immedeately.

"And tell me Private Herzog, what country are you from?" asked the Admiral.

"I am an Englishman sir, but I am of German stock." he replied quickly and clearly.

"Private Herzog, why have you joined the Marine Corps?" Franco inquired.

"To destroy the evil yellow Asian devil that-" he was quickly interrupted as Franco grabbed him by the throat.

"Turn that thing off now!" Franco barked at the camera man as to MPs grabbed the camera. He then let go of the private's throat as the private, as quickly as he could, went back to attention. "Are you a f*cking idiot?" Franco asked "Who is your CO?"

"Seargent Herzog Sir!" the private replied.

"Herzog, isn't your name Herzog?"

"Yes sir it is sir. However so it the Seargent's." the private replied, straining not to look his Admiral in the eye.

A bulky looking man, obviously a German (although he was Austrian, which is quite similar) lumbered his way towards the Admiral, he quickly stopped and saluted. "Admiral Franco Sir, I apologize, recruit number 33 is an embarassment to our Corps and our entire military sir."

Franco burned a hole through the Seargent with his eyes, he was quite angry, not only would the press eat this up as an unorganized military but also as a racist military, something Franco (being a Jew) did not want to occur. "And Herzog here is recruit number 33?"

"Yes sir." replied Seargent Herzog "The little sh*t doesn't deserve to share my name."

"Hmm, you aren't related are you?"

"No si-" private Herzog attempted to say.

"Shut your mouth 33!" yelled Seargent Herzog, the Admiral wasn't speaking to you. "No sir, we are not related at all, if I was related to this poor excuse for a soldier I'd have shot myself sir."

"Suicidal tendencies are a sign of weakness." replied the Admiral.

"It was a joke sir." replied the Seargent.

"And it wasn't very funny. Now head immedeately to my office and wait for me, I have to decide what to do with you about this. Go." the Seargent saluted and quickly headed towards the Captain's chambers. "NOW!" said Franco, speaking to the Marines. "Since Private Otto Herzog over here has decided that he wants to be a hate mongering comedian everyone gets to have some fun!" He approached another Marine. "What is your name son?"

"Marcelo" he replied.

"Is that your first name or your last name private?" asked Franco.

"That is my last name sir, my first name is Juan sir." he replied.

"Alright Juan Marcelo everyone. Juan, tell me, do you like to go swimming?" Franco aske.

"Si-" said the Private.

"Si? Si? Have you forgotten we speak French here in the European military, so would you mind saying that again Juan?" asked Franco.

"Yes sir, yes I like to swim. It is very hot in my native Spain sir." he replied.

"I know that, I am too a Spaniard, if you'd pay attention in camp you'd know that, you'd learn something about your commanders. Now Juan, guess what you and every other Marine here gets to do because Mr. Herzog over here thinks he's funny?"

"We get to go swimming sir?" he asked.

"Well, looks like Juan over here has a head on his shoulders. Alright every single one of you jarheads strip to your undershorts and swim back to the harbor, leave your undershorts on the docks and swim back, then swim all the way back and put them back on. At which point you will again swim back. That is a total of four laps between the ship and the dock. Alright begin NOW!" barked the Admiral. The Marines quickly rushed to pull their clothing off, it was in the middle of January and while the swim wasn't that far away it seemed so due to the cold water. Granted it was Spain and the Mediterranean, the water was still cold. The bustling harbor of Valencia also added embarassment to the marines as they would have to disrobe their undershorts and leave them at the docks. Franco just laughed to himself, remembering when he was just a petty 'swabbie' back in the old Adriatic Navy.

"Well sir, we're ten minutes late." said Captain DeFarge.

"Okay, turn the camera back on. Let's go..." sad Franco as they made their way towards the Captain's chambers.

• Mongolian Response

The UAS takes the EU statements with much skepticism and doubt. The Europeans say that the DMZ must remain clear of all military troops, they seem to forget that their blatantly hostile actions of invading the DMZ prompted this entire peacekeeping mission. European troops entered the DMZ, destroyed an Israeli fortress and then fortified themselves within their own hilltop fortress. Again not with defensive troops but with deadly ralfitzers seemingly posed to strike the nearby Israeli settlement.

The administration of Ozzy Khan at the time reacted appropriately to the situation and supported the peaceful response of WAAR in calling for international protection from EU's actions. Many international law experts were confident that WAAR was justified in attacking and holding territory in Europe in response to EU's hostile advance into the DMZ. Mongolia's peaceful allies, WAAR showed considerable restraint and rather than attack they invited Australlian and Mongol peacekeeping troops into joint EU/WAAR territory for the protection of both sides.

UAS cannot imagine the motivation of the backward EU democracy in invading the DMZ and furthermore cannot imagine the extreme offense taken by the Europeans for the peaceful, moderate reaction taken in response. We are however glad that an agreement seems near and reparations will be made to Israel for past EU actions.

Considering EU's acceptance of wrongdoing UAS requests that payment be made for destruction of property in Mongol cities in northern Siberia. While a true record has not been kept of the true destruction suffered in these two cities UAS asks for the moderate amount of 80 gold from the European democracy. No urgency required for payment, prior comittments for funds to Mali and WAAR are more pressing, but once those debts have been paid the Union of Asian States expects just compensation as well.

• MBC Radio Broadcast over upcoming UAS Elections

The Presidential election is nearing for all voters in the Union of Asian States. After his victory over President Ozzy Khan in the last election President Chris has decided not to run for a second term which opens this election up for many challengers. The past terms of Presidents Ozzy Khan and Chris have brought increased prosperity to the nation but there has been moderate contraversy over UAS' relations with foreign nations.

With the close election of Labor party leader Gough Whiteman in WAAR there has been much speculation that this may affect the voter's mood in Mongolia. Only time will tell. On tonight's program we will provide breif profiles of all the candidate's for office and how they responded to our brief candidate survey.

Mr. Sant began his career in environmental policy working for the Delhi based organization, Prayas. Prayas (Initiatives in Health, Energy, Learning and Parenthood) is a non-governmental, non-profit, public charitable trust registered in India. After many years focusing on energy use and resource management Sant's career diverted to Politics where in 1596 he was elected to Delhi city council and finally worked his way up to Governor of the Delhi province.
Sant is campaigning on the issues of cleaning up UAS, opposing nuclear power and providing available healthcare and social services to the population.

Mr. Rampak, a longtime agitator for worker's rights has come to national promenance as the President of the Malaysian Trade Union Congress. Initially started as a local Singapore factory workers union the MTUC has grown to include all of South-East asia with Union branches in much of India and China. Rampak organized the successful strike of '89 which despite the Saigon riot succeeded in securing a 45 hour work week for as SE asian workers. He also organized the '04 work slowdown in all China, India, and SE Asia where he first acheived national attention.
While no true political experience the Labor Party has chosen Rampak to be their front runner due to his good name recognition. Rampak's issues include a national minimum wage, increased factory production to bring jobs, and many public work programs to ensure all workers have a job who want one.

Bogd Khaan- Conservative Party
After 3 decades of service as Conservative party Senator from N. Mongolia Khaan has won his parties' nomination for President. Khaan is from one of Mongolia's old ruling families that long ago adapted to the UAS Democracy. Khaan is independently wealthy from his families' inexhaustible nestegg and his party switch has generated him much attention. His candiacy is strongly supported also by the Asian Unity Party which has declined to run a candidate and endorse Khaan. His critics are many however, many fearful of the Asian Unity Party's agenda and possible warmongering after years of peace in the region.
Khaan has always been a vocal supporter of Conservative President Dangime's war against the EU, and has been critical of the recent peace agreement that has returned "foreigners to Asian soil." The AUP has historically supported any means necessary for the unification of Asia under a common banner and have enjoyed a surprizing upsurge of support in recent years.

Natsagiin Bagabandi- Liberal Party
Natsagiin Bagabandi served as Vice-President in the last administration and supports a continuation of President Ozzy Khan and President Chris' policies. Vice-President Bagabandi is originally from W. Mongolia but has lived most of his life in the nation's capitol in Central Mongolia. Bagabandi's father was the highly respected Western Mongolian Senator for many years before his retirement. Bagabandi has had a life of politics and is well connected. Considered the virtual incumbant Bagabandi will be tough to beat, but with much opposition to many of President Chris' international policies and private indesgressions he is not with out his weaknesses.
Bagabandi is telling the nation to stay the course and continue the policies of his Liberal Party forerunners. He supports strong foreign aid and assistance for long time Israel allies and a closening of ties with Australlia. Bagabandi proposes to continue with strong domestic growth and international involvement.

Dan is an elliquent speaker for the cause of Asian Liberty. Dan has mobilized many diverse interests in UAS in support of the previously marginalized Libertarian Party. As Party Chair Dan has built the party into a force to be reconed with in Asia. With Dan's nomination this may be the first Presidential election in Libertarian history they have a chance at a decent showing. Wang Dan has spread the message of freedom to all parts of UAS and increased significantly his party's seats in the Mongolian Congress.
Dan supports individual freedom both personally and economically. Dan also calls for an end to all international aid and overseas "meddling" calling for complete neutrality and the canceling of all alliances. Dan also supports dramaticly reducing taxes and cutting the size of the UAS government.

After we return from our break candidate surveys will be made available for all to hear.

• All candidates were asked to briefly answer the following questions important to the Union of Asian States.

1. How do you feel about the brewing situation in Turkey?

Sant- I really have no clear feelings on the issue. The EU did purge central Turkey of that environmentally hazardous fortress, but the matter isn’t clear for me.
Rampak- the impoverished European citizens are victims of international capitalism and Israeli warmongering.
Khaan- the dirty Europeans have trampled on the lives of Asian citizens for the last time. They have abused the Israelis and in our peace deal their indiscretions have deeply offended Mongolia. I will not rule out direct military action.
Bagabandi- Israel have been our historic allies, I support them in whatever course of action they deem necessary.
Wei FK- I am very pleased to hear WAAR gifted the poor Europeans needed technology. Only through open technology exchange will we succeed as a people.
Dan- our nation’s interventionist policies precipitated this conflict. Let other nations settle their own problems; UAS should never get involved.

2. What are your thoughts on the International Nuclear Test Ban treaty?

Sant- I support it fully and unconditionally. Nuclear weapons are a treat to this planet and all who live on it.
Rampak- I support it, nuclear weapons are used by the rich and kill the poor.
Khaan- UAS should not tie its hands with treaties that will weaken and disarm her.
Bagabandi- Liberal Party President Ozzy Khan drafted that treaty and I support our party’s efforts for world peace.
Wei FK- I feel this treaty limits genuine scientific discovery and exploration.
Dan- I am undecided whether we should pursue nuclear weapons but I am sure than any international treaty such as this is an infringement on sovereignty and should be repealed.

3. There has been talk of a space race between Australia and the world, what are your thoughts?

Sant- Humans don’t deserve to enter a new environment when they are still destroying this one.
Rampak- Increased developments in space will be good for jobs, I suggest UAS takes a lead role.
Khaan- Such an endeavor will show the world the might and ingenuity of Asia. The Australians are undeserving of such an achievement.
Bagabandi- We had no plans to go into space and I continue to support that. As for what other nations do, I am undecided as to our approach.
Wei FK- I have pledged to land on the moon by the end of the decade. Politics should not constrain the boundless intelligence of human striving.
Dan- Taxpayer money should not be flushed down the black hole of space.

4. What are your thoughts on Mongolian alliances?

Sant- The Europeans have a fully agrarian society and we support their efforts for a cleaner, healthier environment. I support discussion between our two nations I think we have much to learn.
Rampak- The Zulu Nation is a true worker’s paradise. They have proved to the world that communism is a real possibility; I support switching our alliances from WAAR to the Zulus.
Khaan- WAAR and China are nations of half-Asian mulattos but still better than the other nations. I support closer ties to China and WAAR for the good of all Asia.
Bagabandi- We have had historically close ties to WAAR and Australia, it would be foolish to turn our backs on our friends.
Wei FK- I suggest universal alliances set up for technology sharing for the good of all humanity.
Dan- Entangling alliances only lead to war, total neutrality is the only option.

5. How will you manage our currently strong economy?

Sant- our current progress is not sustainable. Our land is being destroyed to meet the demands of the world. I support increased environmental regulations on all industry.
Rampak- many say our economy is strong but to our millions of unemployed this is a myth. Only through full employment will our nation be whole. I support increased public works programs and increased industry for jobs.
Khaan- our Asian neighbors dominate the world in production; it is only suitable for the beacon of pure Asian culture to excel above all.
Bagabandi- our economy has grown strong under the leadership of our last two presidents; I support continuing our progress.
Wei FK- politicians are always draining the research budget for their pork projects and other building projects. It is clear that any long term vision for a nation’s health needs a strong commitment to scientific development.
Dan- our economy is strong in spite of not because of the government. Reducing taxes, deregulating industry and allowing the free market to succeed will improve the lives of all our citizens.

6. How do you feel on trade? More specifically, the Zulu agreement?

Sant- I support fair and open trade to benefit the entire world. We do need to use trade as a tool to reward good stewards of the environment and punish those who would ruin our planet.
Rampak- We are being swept up in the drumbeat of globalization; Asian jobs are going overseas to the poor nations of Mali and EU where workers labor in unsafe sweatshops. Pressure must be put on all nations to enact fair labor practices. I support trade only with nation’s who treat their workers with utmost fairness as the Zulu do.
Khaan- From what I am aware the agreement calls for the gifting of the Tibetan province, this is outrageous. Our nation should not carve itself up for Africans or Europeans or anyone else. Trade is a good thing but not at the expense of rightful Asian land.
Bagabandi- I am proud of the agreement worked out between President Ozzy Khan and Comrade Shakeem. This deal with benefit both our nations.
Wei FK- I really have to look into the matter more.
Dan- I support full and free trade. Commerce is the life blood of our planet, no government should restrict its flow in any way.

7. Please speak briefly on any one topic.

Sant- our people have neglected the environment for too long. UAS is one of the world’s top polluters. I support restoration of native environments, a restriction on heavy industry, a permanent commitment against nuclear power and strict pollution controls to save our needy planet.
Rampak- I will usher in massive road building projects also I will help our nation’s food production by subsidizing all Asian farmers. Production is important so factory construction will increase as will worker protections.
Khaan- I am ashamed of our cowardly retreat from Europe. The peace treaty we signed was foolish and I will seek more beneficial terms if elected. Also I will do all in my power to secure more land in Asia for our proud people.
Bagabandi- we have had much prosperity of late it would be foolish to change horses midstream. I will continue all the policies that have brought us this far.
Wei FK- Space is the final frontier. We cannot deny our people the promise of fulfilled knowledge.
Dan- I propose permanent neutrality of UAS and the disarming of our bloated military. Peacetime standing armies are only good for the oppression of the people.

• OCC

Can someone post the save from last game? I want to make a map and take a look at what happened last week.

Also I'm really pumped up about this election idea of mine. It is truly uncharted diplogaming territory. I never liked the idea of one god-like person seeing his civilization through from beginning to end of the game. This throws a wrench in the whole thing, a bit of randomness, a bit of true democracy. It is really a different way of looking at the game.

I have some objectives for Mongolia but instead of following through on them which is unrealistic for a leader to be governed in such a manner I am going to leave it all up to a basic roll of the dice. Will I emerge a warmonger? Will I break treaties? Will I remove myself from the world scene? Will i become an economic superpower? Or will I have totally unrelated in-character goals? Your guess is as good as mine!

I'm very excited about this. I'll be able to play whatever character is selected for me. When Chris subbed for me I wanted to turn over as much control over to him as possible to make it a more realistic leader rather than just a stand-in for the omnipotent everlasting leader. So I also want to turn over control of some of my story line to you all too. Clearly you each have self-interested motives in the results of this election so feel free to post in the Election forum as Mongolian faction leaders and supporters of the candidates to try and woo votes to your favorite leader. (do not play the actual candidates themselves though) This could be really fun, have at it folks!

I'd like to see this written up in the Diplogaming hall of fame too, CapTVK needs to include this feat in his FAQ, if it goes smoothly I may run myself fully by elections. This could revolutionize diplogaming!

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this twist!

"Mr President, I have copies of the UAS broadcast here on tape with the translations avaialble too." Deborah Michell handed over the tapes to President Whiteman.

"Thanks Deborah, what do your people make of all this?"

"Well apart from the usual rhetoric we are concerned with some of the candidates willinglness to drop us as allies. Also this referral to some sort of land swap for trade with the Zulus is of concern"

"Yes I agree, Zulu territory in Asia could drastically change the delicate balance of power that currently exists. I dont understand why it would be necessary."

"Nor do we Mr President the Zulu promise trade but we have seen none of it so far."

"Well as soon as the UAS elections are over I will fly over to see the new leader ASAP"

"Perhaps you should include a trip to Australai to ensure the Australains we no longer require their presence in Turkey. Last reports indicate they still havent packed up camp yet."

"Yes I will do that, I hear Australia is very beautiful this time of year."

• Paul 'lies' in hospital......

1625AD – Broken Hill, Presidents hospital quarters.

Saul: “So you got me to sink the ship Einstein was on, then we rescue him, lots of lives are lost, and you brought him to Broken Hill…”

Saul knew even back then that he’d been fooled

Paul: “Well look at our shipping movements. Our research has brought such great benefits.”

Saul: “It is true what the EU says. Your plan to build a city on Sicily precipitated The Great War. The Aussies, hiding behind its pretence of peace, was actually provoking the Adriatics.”

Paul: “Shutup Saul – I’m too sick to put up with your crap.”

Saul: “You mean radiation sickness!”

Paul: “Oh, there is so much in history you do not know. You failed to use the Dame to your advantage.”

Saul: “I know what’s been going on. Moreover, I know you sleep with her. All her pathetic little trips to Broken Hill to check on your ‘nuclear tests’ … more like your ‘nuclear testicles’ ….”

Paul: “He he... Very funny Saul”

Saul: “And I know about Medici and how you both set up the Acadamy and then backstabbed him. What an insidious plan. You send a trireme into the Med knowing he will attack and knowing he had an undefended city in the Caribbean…. And if he didn’t attack you get your city in Sicily anyway. You think that’s smart?? Well, the whole world is wising up to you. And you think you can use me as your foil?”

Paul: “I don’t care. You have outlived your usefulness anyway.”

Saul: “Just like Manning? You sorted him out, eh? And here I’ve been, a man of peace being used by you, fooling the world with our peaceful overtures. What you going to do?”

Paul: “Go away.”

Saul: “You may not make it you know.”
"Old age and skill will overcome youth and treachery. "
