I had to vote for "I play whenever I have the time" because I'm currently busy with the Stella Polaris project, but I'm still playing Civ II as a civer anno 1997. So when I have time, I'm playing Civ II. And more about my devotion to Civ II can be read in my The Column article called "The Civilization II Era." Right now I'm just waiting that one of my best friends gets his new ADSL connection so that we can finally get to play Civ II MP over the Internet. And I also hope that the Civ II MP club of the FACDT will be running soon.

My answer doesn't quite fit into any of your graded categories. Mine is strictly "Not for a while as I'm quite engrossed with SMAC at the moment". Actually I have found SMAC a logical continuation of Civ2. My ambition there is to achieve an OCC win, adapting the many strategic lessons learnt in this forum.

Uh well that's for people who don't want to vote for the other options, yet still feel the need to vote...

... and to post a short explanation of why they haven't voted thus getting another post - hence +1

I voted "a little bit". I cranked it up last weekend and realized there was a lot of little things that it has over SMAC, which is my main addiction. Things like specific population numbers, "real" military units and wonders, and much more appealing graphics IMO (smac's a great game but it's just too "dark"

O hear me, for I have gone astray! Cast your contempt upon my unworthy self!

While taking a break from civ, I've found a new drug - Championship Manager! Gawd what a cool game. I'll revisit civ eventually, but it might be a while yet. Gotta win that Champions League trophy...

Yes, Marquis, you are a naughty boy.
I was convinced that you left civ2 aside for a while in order to take better care of the Markioness (?)... and you come back telling us that you switched to Championship Manager.

I bought this PII 233 laptop, and I put a bunch of my 'classic' archived games on it. ToT was one of them. But I don't play CivIII anymore, that's for sure. Maybe after PTW..

Champ Man is evil and must be destroyed - and anyway my kids can beat it - so it can't be worthy of we true strategists

LaFayette - good try, but the better half of a Marquis is a Marchioness (in english)
