drake - Civ I was a great game in its time, but has many annoying deficiencies, most of which are addressed by Civ II. I spent a lot of time playing Civ I, but I don't think I could go back at this point.

yes, it was just a privacy protection. You had to search through the manual and find the right little picture.

What's the deal with having to prove your worthiness to the crown? Is this just a way to keep people from pirating software??
