Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
You're right! That's one handy formula I should remember...
Still, I think I'm right since the constant string "0,000" is appended to the population... Then again, doing 0.5 * n * (n+1) would be much simpler than devising some function to do the addition I described.
I think the usual formula for the summation function is n(n+1)/2. That's the number of 10,000s in the population. SG just multiplied the formula by 10, so it produces 1000s.
So this would mean one pop-point represents 10.000 guys. Hmm according to this I'm really wondering why in the world 10.000 people could only produce two grain and one shield in one year. Very lazy guys

No, a population size of 1=10,000 guys.
A pop point of 2=30,000 guys.
n(n+1)/2=m*1000
2(2+1/2=3*1000=30000.
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!
