No matter how hard I I never seem to get over 2.5 posts a day. I guess I'll just be a king forever.

You know, the best way is to play the civ games . That can make you able to post like 50 times a day without much spam .

Once you have been here a while (say 6 months plus) you recognise the spam Emperors for the veteran Emperors for the Emperors who post on topic and meaningfully more often than they say (just as an example - bears no relevance to any real poster) "have a nice bloody day".

well there really is no way of measuring the quality of posts

of course people with a greater frequency of higher quality posts will be more respected by others on the boards
            I'm 49% Apathetic, 23% Indifferent, 46% Redundant, 26% Repetative and 45% Mathetically Deficient.

If quality and not quantity matters then surely the rankings are meaningless. If that's true then why do I see everyone (including myslef) pushing hard to get the next rank? I guess we're all a bit shallow when it comes to titles.

When you reach Emperor, you get a free cookie.

And I'm talking about a real cookie, not one of oatmeal raisin cookies you get when you reach King. Bleach.

the best way to increase your postcount is through demo games, for sure. especially unmodded ones

Hehe not all emperors are spammers.......some have just been around a long time as SD suggested. If someone is an emperor after 6 months then maybe, but certainly not always even then.

You set up PBEM stuff for SMAC didn't you? A necessary and useful function, that no doubt generated a few posts. And you have been posting for a long period, so high numbers are natural without spam.
