  • Moderator/staff popularity poll, December 2002

This is the continuation of the new tradition of moderator and staff member popularity polling 3 times each year to see how popular the different faces of Apolyton are. The previous poll was in August, but this one is a more refined one. I'll post the statistics from this poll and the previous poll for comparison sometime in the nearby future.

So who's your favourite moderator or staff member right now on ACS? You can vote at one person, i.e. your favourite. If you have several names in your mind and you can't decide, just abstain or vote at one of them.

If you see your name on the list, please don't vote at yourself because this isn't a poll about your own ego.

In order to ease things up a little bit, here's reference what each of the persons do here on Apolyton.

Blake - Officially he moderates the Stella Polaris forum, but he also works as the Project Manager for the development team.

DanQ - Administrator and co-owns the site with Markos. Official moderator of Apolyton/Community.

Gramphos - Officially he moderates in Civ3-Files and Civ3-Creation, but he also works with developing the Directory and he's also to thank for Civgroups.

ixnay - Works with the Rise of Nations section of the site.

Jay Bee - Owner of the Spanish Civilization Site and moderates in the The Spanish Civilization Site forum.

Locutus - Officially he moderates in all CtP and CtP2 related forums, but he's also known for content management in the CtP and CtP2 sections.

MacUser - Moderates in the Mac related Civ forums.

Mark_Everson - Officially he moderates the Clash of Civilizations forum, but he's better known as the boss of the Clash Team.

MarkG - Administrator and co-owns the site with Dan. Official moderator of all Civ III forums.

MichaeltheGreat - One of the three thugs of the off-topic forum.

Ming - This name doesn't require too much explanation, but some repetition is always good. Officially moderates in the OTF, all Civ II and Civ III forums. Also seen elsewhere.

rah - One of the 3 off-topic moderators.

Rasbelin - Officially he moderates the Stella Polaris forum and he works with the project as SPDT Manager. Also doing small tasks every now and then.

Solver - Administrates the CtP and SMAC PBEM ladders and he's also responsible for interviews.

St Leo - Moderates in Scenario League/Civ2-Creation and Civ2-PBEM, but he's maybe better known for the Scenario League website.

techumseh - Moderator in Scenario League/Civ2-Creation.

Velociryx - Leader of the Candle'Bre Team that develops The Courts of Candle'Bre. Officially he moderates the Candle'Bre forum.

WarVoid - Officially he moderates in Scenario League/Civ2-Creation.

Go ahead and cast your ballots.

Boycotting me because of my X-mas boycot, eh?

Well, in that case, I'm boycotting this poll!

I voted for Solver as I voted at Dan in the last poll and as both are about as equally liked by me, so I decided to have some small variation from the last poll. Maybe imy opinion has also changed a little bit.

Added both Locutus and Ixy. Please add the entries "ixnay" and "Locutus" to the poll as I can't do that.

          Sorry for the mix up.

This really should be a multipoll. I'd like to spread the graces 'round a bit.
"The number of political murders was a little under one million (800,000 - 900,000)." - chegitz guevara on the history of the USSR.
"I think the real figures probably are about a million or less." - David Irving on the number of Holocaust victims.

So it's OK for a staff member to start a popularity contest? Hypocrisy or what!

(stirs up the forums a bit more )

                    H Tower,

you're a junior moderator as a moderator of DG forum and you're also one of those who are in thoery regularly changed as you vote a new president for the game.

                    PH,

well, I did think about that before starting this poll, but as I wasn't a moderator when I posted this poll for the first time, I concidered that it wouldn't be biased as I have asked that people wouldn't vote on themselves.

                    Straybow,

you can abstain from voting if you need that Mr. Banana.

I feel uncomfortable with this poll. I think that every Apolyton staff member contributes to the community in some way, and I don't think it is fair to choose one among them.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

                        let's see.

first off, i dont go to half the forums and dont know half the people.
                        i outwardly loathe markg.
mings nice to me but he DOES ban me occasionally.
i got no beef with rah, 'cept that he looks like ming.

now the real debate is between vgriph and kyller. multitool versus funniest-photoshop-thread-ever.

                        the latter gets my vote.

no, that sounds like what a parents say to all their children, but then they whisper on one of their ears "it's really you".
