  • Was the server down?

I wasn't able to connect to 'Poly during the weekend. Was the server down or was it just my connection?

This place goes down more often than a Filipino hooker.

Not a word of apology yet, either....must be another ****-up from the idots at Gamestats.

I wasn't able to connect on Saturday evening (GMT) either. So it must have been down.

        Was the server down?
From my personal experience, I'd have to answer in the affirmative.

Yes, I think that the server was down. I was not able to access Apolyton during all the weekend. When it went down, I was posting a message...
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

As far as I can see, the site has been up again for less than 2 hours, so what can you expect? Besides, you should visit CivFanatics moreoften, if you really think Markos and Dan owe you an explanation/apology (which they really don't, of course; noone forces you to come here)...

must be another ****-up from the idots at Gamestats.
If you'd really care so much that a apology would be in order, you would have known that we're (temporarily) not on a Gamestats server anymore...

Unfrotunatly the Civfanatics forum was down, too here is the stuff from the Civfanatics news page:

                Apolyton Downtime Notice
posted by Thunderfall at 8:23 PM

We just received an email from Apolyton's admin DanQ about their latest downtime. Apolyton has been down for more than 24 hours. It was a really rough weekend for the Civ community. Here is an excerpt from the notice:

"We (the ACS administration) and our hosts are currently aware of the server problems and the extended (24hrs.+) downtime that has resulted to date. Our hosts have been busy working on diagnosing and resolving the problem and as of yet we have not received any word as to the exact nature of the problem; at this point, however, they are undoubtedly concentrating their effort on getting the server back online in as timely and efficient manner as possible. It is not aware if the intermittent blackouts experienced earlier this week are related to the present difficulties, but at this point nothing is being ruled out."

                It's Back!!!
posted by Thunderfall at 7:23 PM

We finally got the forum back online after 31 hours of downtime! Everything should work now.

Still not yet a word of apology.

This is not acceptable in the current commercial climate. (or so says Provost Harrison from the chair beside me)

                      Locutus,
Have you figured out anything about why the trackings looked as they did?

                        Gramphos,
Not really, but I think (one of the?) main backbone(s) of Greece being shut down would go a long way towards explaining it

BTW, thanks to Markos & Dan for keeping us informed...

                            It's not free.

I'm paying them by viewing their adverts.

                              1) it's been well over a year now that we have stopped being payed based on impressions(people just viewing an ad)
                              2) you obviously havent noticed what kind of ads we have been running the last month...
