I would be interested in a MOO3 forum, I liked the Moo2 forum at OWO before it closed and I came here.

I never played MOO1&2 but I'm very interested in MOO3. This is going to be my second favorite, after CivIII.

In my opinion, all that a MOO3 section would require at the moment is a link to the Quicksilver site. Development discussion at Quicksilver is perused regularly by the game developers, so it would be silly to have development discussion on Apolyton where it would be ignored. Just a simple link would still be helpful in letting Apolytoners know that MOO3 exists (or will exist).

Once the game is on the shelves then it might be a good idea to set up a MOO3 forum, since the Quicksilver forum might be taken down or at least be left to turn malignant once the developers leave it. That might even pull some people from the Quicksilver forum to Apolyton when the time comes. But until then, I don't see an Apolyton MOO3 section as being a very high-maintenance task.

Yeah, that's because you have the hots for the Elerians.

By that same token, why not simply replace the Civ forums with links to Firaxis?

The history, particularly that surrounding SMAC, should indicate why that's not such a great idea. Apolyton's role, like that of other independents such as ACOL, is to provide feedback free from the corporate shackles. Besides, it'll help expand Apolyton into new areas.

If it weren't for the fact that I've got minor distractions like a job and a family I'd definitely volunteer to assist a MOO3 section. Sadly, that's just not realistic as I can't devote the sort of time necessary to do the job justice. I'd strongly encourage the more dedicated fans to take a role, however.

A good point, but Firaxis also knows/cares about the Apolyton CivIII forum to some extent. The same might not hold true of the Quicksilver team.

I suppose it would be worth a try regardless of whether Quicksilver cares or not. It's just that my initial thought was that there's no time or place for a MOO3 list, and the list was the only reason I posted on the Civ III forum in the first place...

I'm interested in a MOO3 section. I'd rather keep my posting to one bulletin board then have to check over Quiksilver's as well.

MoO is definitely better than the sequel though.

Just curious, why would Apolyton cover MoO 3 alone when there are tons of other space 4x games out there? Wouldn't it be better if the forum is for that particular genre of computer games?

Because MoO/MoO2 are right up there with Civ/Civ2, so I wouldn't doubt it if MoO3 and Civ3 should be on the same site.

Perhaps Apolyton should expand to "Classic Strategy Gaming" instead of just Civ.

The only other space game that compares with MoO is STARS!.

I could understand a combined forum for MoO3 and STARS!:SUPERNOVA, but there is nothing else out there worth it.

I would be honoured to do some work for the MOOx forum. MOO2 was the game I played the most.

MOO2 had the best user interface so far and was more addictive than Civ and it's clones (needless to say Alpha Centauri). It's "lighter" than Civ and the "flow" of the game was better because the micromanagement was easier to control.

                                And no settlers!
