Banning of Civnation

Just mouthing off and saying that gays are immoral wouldn't have gotten him banned, in my opinion. What really ticed me off was his use of the word "f-ggot". It wasn't even a joke. That word is a purely hate word, as there are many other words ("gay" or "queer" are two obvious examples) which would have gotten his point across and would, by themselves, not be offensive. I'd been arguing pretty good naturedly with him for two days, but started needling him a little bit toward the end. In response, he lost all semblance of rationality, and started striking out. I feel bad that my actions might have provoked the reaction which got him banned, but at the same time, I think he knew what the consequences were going to be. His response to Ming's warnings was not enough, by itself, to justify banning him, but then again, I'm surprised that Ming even gave him a second chance, given the content of his ealier post.

Nah, I'm pretty sure that gay people have co-opted "queer" and turned it into their own name for themselves. See the Simpsons episode where Homer's afraid that Bart's gay. Also great for the famous (infamous) gay steel mill ending.

I'd just like to say that I am completely disgusted by the liberal ****** of this forum. I will continue to say "queer", "******", and whatever racial slur I like. This is really bright, eyes. Post this in the one place the mods are sure to look. Calling people "chinks" isn't an intelligent expression of defiance; it's just plain ignorance. Are you seven years old? Because that's what you sould like. You know, that little kid in the store that cries and cries because mommy won't get you the shiny toy. BTW, EyesOfNight, are you unable to understand a simple rule? YOU DO NOT OWN THIS PLACE. If an admin here wanted, he could just ban the whole of USA because everybody posted so cutely. Now, if Ming asks X not to do Y, and in the very next post, X does Y, it is a perfect justification for the ban. A justification which was never even needed.

I'm a bit confused about that paranoid thing. Wouldn't life be much easier if you try to give the impression of who you really are instead of not being what you don't want to be. That's one thing I've learned, just being yourself makes you feel much more comfortable. And not only for gay people, for everyone.
