        Mark, Snapcase meant to say,

"These new forum listing designs are unasthetically pleasing. If you would be so kind as to change it, it would be greatly appreciated."

Is this about the redesign to put a second ad at the top of the topic listings? I find that extremely annoying, as it consistently introduces a new 4-5 second delay every time I use the 'back' button after having read a topic. Unless something is done about that, I will have to get one of those ad removers.

As economy was obviously a factor here, I did not expect that anything would be done about it. But it is still annoying. I do not particularly mind the ads themselves, but when they start to interfere with my browsing, enough is enough...

Is it the ad servers that are slow, or is there something in the page code that could be improved? I notice that the top ad is always drawn first (on top of the old page), regardless of whether it should be visible or not...

Why not move both ads to the top, right next to each other? That way it's more aesthetically acceptable.

Some suggestions as to make it look slightly better...

                      1) Move the "Show topics" menu underneath the ad and all the way over to the right so the submit buttons from both menus line up

                      2) Put the profile/register/etc. links back in one row and move them down and to the left directly across from the news menu (like in the actual threads)

Wtf is that "MyComputer.com" invisible link-line beneath the second ad? Why is it there? Isn't it kind of tricky, being there, since a click on presumably empty space and only millemeters away of a useful button will send you away from Apolyton. And why does the old ad open up a new window but the new one sends you away on the same one?

                        Suggestions:
Give us a discrete border for those ad links
Or some spacing between the ad and the vital stuff below them
Or place the MyComputer.com above the banner
And of course make them open in a new window!

What really annoys me about those banners is that some times they are dizzying. If I were you, I wouldn't accept a banner like "What country is Arnold Schwarzenegger from?". That thing is gonna make us epileptic!

                        Damn Capitalists!

To MarkG and DanQ: Please don't be offended. I am angry but my anger isn't directed towards you. I know you're devoted to the civvin community and that you really don't like your site crammed with silly ads. I trust that you can find solutions to ease up the problem. I just have to emphasise this:

GET RID OF THAT STUPID AD! IT'S MAKING ME NUTS!

                          1) reismark, axi please tell me the resolutions you see the page on
                          2) axi, the "mycomputer" thing is added by the provide of the ad(mycomputer.com)
                          3) we dont select one-by-one the ads that we show(as we have said my times)

I use 1280*1024 in a maximised window of IE, but with a Favorites sidebar. I have switched to 800*600 to see how it looks like and I aknowledge that it's hard work to make the same page look nice in both resolutions.

But at least can we have the new ads open a new window? Is it that hard?

axi: relax. I'm sure Markos can add a 'target="_blank"' to the links so they open in a new window...
