    LOL @ Legman!

It may have taken me a while, but I learned that Mark is Ultimate Authority. Whatever he says goes. This ain't a democracy, ya know.

At least they explain things to you. Ya really want to see "no justice"? Take a trip to SidGames. Tell whistler that I sent ya.

Lancer "chilled" and AH didn't. That's as simple as it gets.

(I wonder when he'll graduate to "TeraTroll"? )

          Can a new guy comment?

I saw this argument. Mr Ming asked them to stop and after a couple of parting shots each they did. Ming just asked them to stop nicely, he didn't seem ticked off, he didn't issue a warning or threaten bans or anything, and they complied pretty fast. So it looked like it was all over.

Then a long time after it was over and done with, like about 4 or 5 hours later, the Mark G guy comes online and brings the long dead thread to the top and bans the Horse guy! My conclusion was the Mark guy did it because he likes the Lancer guy and doesn't like Alexander Horse.

          Is that a problem?

Yes but what I don't understand is why did Mark do anything when Ming the Moderator had already dealt with it and it had been over for many hours with both guys quitting the argument? I don't see much difference in what the 2 of them were doing and it all looked pretty mild, and kinda funny. The only difference was the way the 2 of them were treated, one banned, the other not. The Pm reason looks like a technicality to me.

That's why I think Mark banned the horse just because he doesn't like him or he agrees with the Lancer or something. Alexander the horse had long gone and quit the fight, as Ming requested.

Is Mark a fair kind of guy?

. Many of you all get so worked up about nothing. A H has a sore spot about sticky threads (and maybe/maybe not a the karen Mills subject). He is undisciplined enough to repeat fits of complaining about them (incluidng inside the stickly threads themselves, inaapropriately) even though already told tough luck by the powers that be. Lancer has a sore spot abouts Horses complaining, and can't resist taking him to task for it. Neither can then resist impugning each other motives and them devolving into a flamming war. MarkG has a sore spot about Horses repeated hissy fits on the same subject, and when Horse crosses a do do this line establihed by Ming (however arbitrary that line may seem to others), MarkG improves the quality of his life for 1 week by ban banning Horse. I certainly might have done so with one of both the contestants if they were upsetting MY environment. If this was going on at my house I would have expelled one or both, WITHOUT ANY THOUGHT OF JUSTICE, but just as a matter of preserving MY environment in the condintion I want it to be, as a matter of my right and privilage.
. As for the apparent probability of this reoocuring, perhaps a new POLICY statement in the FAQ:

                  I. Sticky threads are the PRIVILAGE of the Admins, for whatever purpose shall be pleasing unto them, tough luck if you do not like them or their subject.
II. Thou shalt not complain about a thread being made sticky in that thread or in the OT or any other forum except as describe below.
III. The only forum venue for complaining about sticky threads is a separate thread in the Appolyton Forum, said thread SHALT be tiltled "Rant about sticky thread (id)".
IV. NO flamming of any kind is permitted in a "Rant about sticky thread"

actually, since i'm not 24 hours a day in the OT(much, much less), the quality of my life has barely changed due to AH's ban. what i'm worried about is the quality of he forums....

. I thinking of preventing the tiresome repetiton of the events that lead up to the reccuring transgresssions with an "in your face, its my privilage, but I will generously leave you one venue to rant in" policy.

Lefty, you are perhaps the most refreshingly selfish person I have encountered, of late.

Lance is a great guy. AH is obnoxious. I can understand Mark's "bias". Although, I don't think he really was.

I agree with Lance that flaming and name calling on the internet is gutless.

Whether or not Markos was biased or not is debatable, but is also totally irrelevant, since he can be biased if he so desires. He's one of the owners of the site after all, and this is not a democracy as pointed out countless times before.

Having said that, I believe this whole debate here is boring, apart from some very entertaining posts from Lefty. Great work, Lefty

Well, I think the newbie has the best perspective. Right on, Rimmer.

Legman did exaggerate, but I think his point is well made.

Thanks to Ming for providing the links so I could look at them.

No-one is claiming freedom of speech here. There talking about fairness. MarkG hasn't said "I admit its not fair, I don't have to be fair, its my ball, and you can't play with it if I don't want you to."

So people saying how MarkG can do anything he wants aren't really adding much to the debate.

There is no question in my mind this was bias, and worse, spite.

The debate, as Rimmer had pointed out, was long over.

Lancer got the last dig in AFTER being told to go to PM.

Horse did commmit the faux pas of quoting a PM in the forum.

Lancer then responded, continuing the argument outside of the PMs.

There is no way even the USSC could differentiate between the level of crime and punishment each poster deserves. If that was a week for Horse, it should have been a week for Lancer.

Lancer also seriously threatened to punch the horse's lights out.

                              bias-bias-bias-bias-bias-bias-bias-bias-bias!
