    Can't those with near admin power track changes anyway? I recall seeing an 'edit history' tab for posts when I hacked Ming's account....

    Moving away from the nascent 'poly metaphysical/religious discussion here, then edit functions are vital so that ordinary posters can remain unbanned. If, for example, I was to call Dr Spikey a very nice chap indeed, and someone was to call my attention to the offensive nature of this remark, then I could edit it and avoid any offense, and any need for mod action. This is not to encourage people to post all kinds of rude words and then alter them as soon as they see Ming and rah on the "members online" list on the front page, as these posts can still be reported to mods, with a description of why said post offends them.
