Well, I intend to register, but since I don't use PayPal, I have to do it by mail, which means I doubt I'll make the June 16th deadline. I guess count me in the meantime, for what it's worth.

ZargonX: might there be someone you know who has a PayPal account and would be willing to register you on your behalf (you could then postal mail them reimbursement)?

Perhaps corporate sponsorship is in order? Or *gasp* teaming up with CFC?
As it is, if it's going to be cancelled, I could really use that money, my fiancee wasn't too excited about me spending so much to go...First Master, Banan-Abbot of the Nana-stary, and Arch-Nan of the Order of the Sacred Banana.
Marathon, the reason my friends and I have been playing the same hotseat game since 2006...

Sorry to hear that, Straybow.
If and when this event is cancelled, refunds for those who have registered will be addressed in as a timely and efficient manner as possible.

Anyway, the money order's heading to Snoopy tomorrow. (My parents wanted to wait until the end of the week - they don't know how the Internet moves...). Not sure what the process is - i.e., if Snoopy orders in bulk or something.
::Goes into Baltimore Tourism Mode::
Look at it this way, if you already bought tickets to Baltimore, well, it's still a great place to visit!
Baltimore Inner Harbor: This is our famed harbor, with colonial-style ships that you can explore.
Baltimore Aquarium: Quite a huge exhibit of sea life.
Science Center: Another fun-filled place for the family where you can explore science. Also visit the IMAX theatre! (Front-row seats are the best!)
Baltimore Museum of Arts (and Walters Art Gallery): Two famous art meseums with artwork from places like Egypt, China, etc.
Hard Rock Cafe: Down by the Inner Harbor, it's a great place to hang out.
ESPNZone: Watch the World Cup while you're at it!
Ethnic Restaurants: We have many, many ethnic restaurants here. Italian, Korean, Arabian, and so on. Many are cheering on World Cup teams, too.
Discovery Zone: If you've got kids, this is a nice place for them to hang out. (My dad worked on it, too!)
Oriole Park at Camden Yards: While there's no games being played that weekend, you can still check it out. They do offer tours, so call them!
Ravens Stadium (M&T Bank Stadium): Our (American) Football team. That's the Americanized Rugby to you Europeans.Home to the Baltimore Ravens, and famed linebacker Ray Lewis. (ok, so he doesn't ACTUALLY live there...).
Fun Fact:
Did you know that Hamid Karzai's (Yes, that one, from Afghanistan) brother owns three restaurants here? He does. Although, he's in Afghanistan now helping his brother out.Last edited by Chieftess; June 12, 2006, 21:13.Come over to CFC! | My Pre-Apolyton Roots! ;)

Great Nolan.
As for CFC... I'm sure it's too late at this stage in the game to bring them on board. Even if that was an option open for consideration.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

that still doesn't rule out
PEPSI presents Apolycon 06!
I'll be driving cross country with Donegeal if it goes down so no sightseeing otherwise.
Would be nice to have my money back to help with wedding expenses though.First Master, Banan-Abbot of the Nana-stary, and Arch-Nan of the Order of the Sacred Banana.

If it is cancelled, I'm not going. Hell, I actually feel bad going as it is (leaving my pregnant wife with a 9 month old baby so I can go play a video game with a bunch of computer nerds I've never met is a tad bit selfish).
I seriously don't think that 20+ people are going to sign up in the next 3 days...

Maybe if there was an information blitz about some more of the stuff that will be going on at the con? Some people might have missed it the first time, and the Con forum is only for people who have signed up, so those interested are kind of cut of from the juicy details.

Er, yeah, this subforum isn't exactly Apolyton Central Station.
I tried to get my brother in DC to go, and to help me go. Hey, what are relatives for but to raid their pockets?(\__/) Save a bunny, eat more Smurf!

This event has been advertised (and discussed) for months on end as a sticky thread in the OT forum, for example. Other efforts include but are not limited to:
- News items have regularly appeared in the "About"/"News" sections
- Headlines in the 'Today on Apolyton' bar off and on (near constant presence throughout this month)
- A "hot icon" on the site's homepage off and on (constant presence throughout this month)
- Forum announcements have been made site-wide on an ongoing basis
Earlier this month we also took the rare step of emailing all registered forum users en masse about this gathering. By no means has this event only been advertised in this forum.
