Perhaps a 2 week trip over there, I've never visited the US before...where do you recommend?

Well, if you're coming to the US you have to see at least New York City and Washington DC.
Considering Baltimore is between the two it's quite convenient.

Yes, DC would definitely be the first part of my visit...I may try and get further up the coast to New York, perhaps even Boston if I have enough time...I am going to post a thread on the off-topic about this though...Speaking of Erith:
