btw, was the starting off with no techs intentional? also, my se settings started off at 100% econ and 0% labs. just so everyone else knows to change it. of course this doesn't apply to chaunk for 10 years.

Hmm. Well not really. But kinda gives the game a certain effect does it not?

Unless some of you really wanna start over I suggest you try it out. Everyobody starts with 1 tech less or does UoP start out with 2 less tech, Should be interesting to see.

Well I haven't moderate that many games so my skills still needs to be "polished". As I wrote before if you guys want I could remake the game. However I like to adress so some of the points mentioned.
Everything is random so not getting stuff and getting stuff really is totally up to fate.
You can all change your name and gender and whatever by yourself (just go to the faction profile in "datalinks"). It would take me forever to change gender and name on 7 faction while still someone wouldn't be satisfied. If you do it yourself it takes 2 minutes.
When you played PBEM awhile you most certainly would have 10, 15 or even 20 PBEM going at same time. Starting up with faulty setup (no tech, too many colony pods, too few scouts, no rover, etc) actually would seem like a refresehment. If you want scouts, build them! If you want tech, find the other players!

Anyway, last night was my only free night for awhile (2 weeks), so remaking a map would have to wait till sometimes next weekend. If you wanna keep me as moderator you'll have to wait till then. That would give you more time to discuss over more details. Mail them to me whenever you're ready.

personally, since we're all starting off on the same foot. i suggest we just play the game as is, and change our own name's in the datalinks(didn't know we could do that).

sure, the game's different and random and stuff, but that was pretty much the point from the beginning.

Actually,

Menu>network>customize your faction allows the name changes to faction, etc. Takes less than a minute.

There is a hotkey, I think, but I cannot recall it.

First: I'd like to thank everybody for their feedback from behind the scenes.

Second: We've still got to resolve the player eliminated bug. Is it in effect with 'Do or Die' on also ? Or what ?

Third: "nomatter", do you want your recon rover ? ( most of us support you if you do ).

Fourth: I wish that I could hear from "JohnPaulJones", so as to settle the native life issue. (JPJ, are you lost in e-mail space like we we're ? Or maybe, that since you now know what we're like, you want to remain hidden. )

Fifth: Thank you "Mongoose" for helping us with the comm. link thing-a-ma-doer-namer-whatever you wanna call it. (Don't stray to far away from us, we might need you again...)

I thought the game had already started so is there a need for me to chime in with my vote on native life ? Well seing as I'm Morgan I'd say turn the feckin' stuff off altogether, but an impartial vote would be for 'Average'.
