    Rubinic Report, M.Y. 2176:
Brother Lal contacted the Rubinites this year demanding that CEO Rubin immediately ended the trade treaty with the Hive. Furthermore, Lal ordered Rubinic military to support his campaign against the Hive. CEO Rubin sternly refused to comply with these outrageous demands and told Brother Lal to either stop threatening the Rubinites or start putting some action behind these hollow threats; for the Rubinites shall not betray their friends...
    End of Report

    Turn passed to Lord Chip.

    • Fortunately, the diplomatic leadership of the Hive and the University is more enlightened than their military leadership. Both factions professed understanding of our diplomatic situation and renewed treaties with the Gaians.

The next item on the agenda has to be to cook up some sort of revenge against Lal the "peacekeeper". If he is as arrogant with the other factions as he is with me, someone is going to smack him hard. When that time comes, we need to mobilize the Gaian army--such as it is--to help.

          Rubinic Report, M.Y. 2177:
As expected, Colonel Santiago contacted CEO Rubin this year. The Colonel was furious. The truce between the Spartans and the Rubinies may end within a few years. CEO Rubin fears that the Peacekeepers and the Lord's believers may openly and actively support a spartan war against the Rubinites.
Also, CEO Rubin congratulates Lord Chip on the construction of the Neural Amplifier.
          End of Report

          Turn passed to the Gaians.

            • Interfactional Announcement:

The University of Planet is growing weary of listening to empty threats and insults. Lord Chip should act like the pawn he is, not critisize our military. He should know that declaring war has consequences. Any war conducted near our territory will be frowned upon. Brother Lal should stop acting like he's invincible. Another threat from him and we will shove our superior technology down his throat.

The next time you offend the University, be prepared to back it up.

              • Friend Gufnork:

I do not understand how I have offended.

I did not declare war on you. Why would I want to do that? You declared war on me. I guessed that you, personally, were not responsible and, for that reason, praised your diplomats who recovered from unfriendly reaction that someone within your faction made.

As to your military, I am sure that it is formidable and well-run. I do not recall having made any public pronouncement on the subject.

As to war conducted on or near your territory, I don't know where your territory is, much less have I sent a unit there.

I do not understand. Why are you threatening me?

                Lord Chip

                • I have not received the turn Lord Chip. (Please discard this if you were talking about the turn we played earlier today.)

                  • HongHu:

You are correct that my "Turn, obviously, has already been passed to HongHu" is a reference to the previous turn.

You will note that I failed to post in between Rubin's last "turn sent" and your last "turn sent".

I have not received a turn since that time.

                    Sorry for the confusion.

                            • Researchers at the Gaian Institute report a surge in mind worm activity of late. Although we have made great strides in recruiting such units to Gaian defense, researchers were surprised that both units encountered this year resisted their advances. Clearly the mind worms are more complex than we originally thought.
