If I were to act like I have at times on Earth and blindly follow the pretty woman, I'd probably wake up to find myself in Gaia's High Garden wearing someone else's clothes, with the mother of all headaches and no recollection of how I got there. Fortunately during a space crisis there's no time to think about getting lucky, which is why I'd follow Morgan and get rich, and laugh at all the Gaian suckers crawling in the dirt and falling over each other to touch the hem of Deirdre's robe.

I don't remember very well, but didn't the SMAX story introducing the new factions say that the Cyborgs arose from some old Unity computer activated by some Hive drones???

Lacking the Cyborgs, I'd choose the University of Planet, a faction devoted to progress; but unlike the Morganites, not one that leads to a corporate dictatorship.

Aki Zeta was subjected to an experiment concerning Pre-Sentient Algorithm, merging with the Unity computer which was later salvaged by Hive drones. The rebooting of the Unity computer woke up the algorithm in Aki's Brain and she calls herself Aki afterwards. Later on in the story she co-operates attacks with Zak, against the Drones and the Cult. Then the aliens come...

          Or something like that...

Philosophically I tend toward rugged individualism, which means towards the Spartans for this poll. Playing the game I would prefer to play many of the other factions, though the Spartans are not that bad, pretty flexible actually.

Perhaps age is beginning to sap my idealogical strength though. My girlfriend and I just hired a cleaning lady to help us with the house for a couple of hours once a week. Where will this end? Rugged individualism indeed.

Without a doubt I'd chose the Gaians (naked frolicking not withstanding). I'm not surprised that the UoP is first, but the results for Morgan surprised me a little. It looks like Vel has made his mark!!

                    Morgan Industries!

I would love to join the UoP, except I haven't got my mathematics degree yet so I'd probably have to scrub the toilets or something. Or bathe the old people like Zakharov - yuk.

On the other hand, I could quite fancy being a Morganic courtesan. (You know I really mean one of Morgan's courtesans!)

That would be Morgan. Peacekeepers are little too hippy, Gaians little too green, other factions are fascists of some sort . Free Market is full of opportunities...Maybe I could sell my few stocks of earth based corporations to some biased optimists who believe earth actually made it

If I was on the Unity with what I know now, I'd choose going with Yang.

I'm more of a collectivist. Not only that but I tend to get megalomaniacal and I'd make sure I'd help Yang obtain as much power as possible (and get my fair share too!)

I'm all for Morgan. I've got good ideas and all, but nothing so brilliant that the UoP would consider me worth a darn. But Morgan... ahhhh, now there's something. A whole new planet begging for ideas, and a group of like-minded entrepreneurs ready to build a new paradise. Do what you want, guys, but if I don't get running water, air conditioning, and television/net-access/games, I don't wanna play.
