Can you elaborate on your statement of; "driving us into the Gaians camp"? For some reason, I can't see that myself, in their reply...
This is what it means to be a Spartan. It's not the killing or the suffering that matters. It's the purity of focus, without fear of death or pain.

    • "Consider the deal finalized" - I'm going to have to ask them to specify that they also accept our additional terms. If we can push them through, we've capitalized on their paranoia as it is pretty decently. We can keep on making imbalanced suggestions, such as the GS one - I'd imagine that they won't be quite as willing to negotiate down payments et. al. now that they're mortified we'll abandon them. I'm thinking they might be in real need of the credits our treaty with them will provide, even if we grab half from the top of the pile.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

Just a general perception in jtsisyoda's tone - almost grovelling

Sorry, when I posted the turn for you guys I didn't have to time say anything. I respectfully request that our temporary/apparent inactivity not be seen as disinterest in cooperation. We consider the deal finalized, but first you have to take Gene Splicing off the list in the Diplo box. I'm unable to take it off, otherwise I'd have accepted the treaty. If this is my error in rushing the turn, I apologize. (There's a reason Mead's the diplomat.)

        • Mmmm...
I saw it more as; he was rushed to get the turn done.
Just a matter of individual perception I suppose...

Any way. Looks like there moving with us (to me any ways).

          • The Morganites are OK with the temporarity clause but not the upkeep cost. I'm going to agree with that, since we're (like with the Gaians) already gaining stuff we didn't originally specify.

            • OK - let's renegotiate after 5 years (they won't see much, except Pegasus popping a pod. We'll make sure it goes nowhere near our land

              • Hey, sorry about being so inactive these last few days. I've had avalanches of schoolwork to do.

It looks like you guys have everything going well.
If there are proposals pending anytime in the future, don't worry about waiting for me, you can go ahead with them. Some days I don't have time to post, but I still skim through and make sure everything is going okay. If something jumps out at me as a bad decision, I'll make sure to comment on it.

                • Pretty well considering how I keep forgetting stuff and then have to talk people into accepting the stuff once I add it to a proposal they've already accepted. I wonder if the same'll happen with the Angels too.

                  • So to go back to the SCC Hunter, I presume these orders meet with approval? (last post on page)

(Maybe we ask Morgan for a mini-screenie of their coastline so as to not waste their - and our - time exploring what they already know )

                    • I'm proposing to post in the Embassy, under the Hunter Logs, the following (unless the Junta agree that it should not be posted):

                      *************************************************

                      Captain's Log, 2142

Captain Primus Pilus activated the commlink to see the familiar face of Commander Dissident:

"Captain, here are your orders for this tour of duty"

                      "Sir!," responded Captain Pilus

                      The Commander continued:

"From your present position, you will sail on the following bearings, coastline and seafungus permitting, (and you are authorized to use your own discretion in circumnavigating such obstacles):

                      2142: S x 1, then W x 2, then S x 1
                      2143: S x 1, then SE x 3
                      2144: NE x 2, then E x 2
2145: There you will rendezvous with the Pegasus, just outside Hive coastal waters, who will be carrying fresh orders for you. Understood?"

"Aye, Aye, Sir," responded the Captain, as the commlink flickerd off.

He gave the ordsers to his crew, and the Hunter weighed anchor and sailed south from Vander Eudaimonics. The Morgan observer on board gave one last wistful look at the Base he'd called home for these last 40 years, then turned and went below deck.

                      *************************************************

                      OK to post?

                      • Sounds fine. I'm sure mentioning the Hive coast is okay because the Morganites probably already know in what direction Yangland is.

                        • Yep, I see no problems with it either, but then I'm a bit tired already. (Fifty posts in 24 hours, whew! Quite an undertaking.)

And they'll see the screenies anyway (prolly well before they even get a foilprobe finished and down there)

Looks like we'll have to wait (and pobably not expect too much)...
