(I got no idea how strictly we can enforce any rule about posting where. Our Spartan Home invites people to just spam in the forums any ways. )

(What I've been doing; is posting in the same thread where I figure I should reply. Dunno if this is correct either (?) But no military police has come a 'nockin at my door yet...)

I'd see only the two topped threads - Turn Reports and Current Maps as being ones where comments posts are not welcome. Every other one I'd see as being open for comment, disagreement, clarifications etc, and, yes, even spamming for those that need to spam (well, maybe no spamming in the Datalinks thread either)

        Mmmm...

Besides Chaunk, I have hardly any idea who is who on the Morganite team.

Any of you know more than I do?

Well, when I was briefly a member the most active were:

Chaunk: you know. He's the CEO of Morgan Industries. A good PBEMer

Impaler - he was first out of the blocks when the new game was getting organized, and wanted Morgan,
He's the Chief Manufacturing Officer (per his profile) In the last game, he was one of Maniac's colleagues in the CyCon team. he's been active in maybe a half dozen PBEMs I've set up over this past year

jtsisyodaIs the COO and turnplayer. Last game was an active member of the Drones, over at Civgaming

AndiD is the SOO (Second Operations officer, IIRC) and a decent player that I've had in PBEMs - plays Morgan well

GeoModder - strangele enough is also a member of the Data Angels (I've asked how is that possible in the "silly question" thread in the public forums)

Micha - a useful player that I've encountered in a couple of PBEMs

Rubin ] He'll do much of the background research and micromanagement. A friend of Darsnan's, knows smac/x formulas inside out

#endgame, Whoha and ZargonX, IIRC, were pretty much "in learning mode" re playing Morgan

The others I don't know too much about other than brief introductions when they joined Morgan (for those that came in when I was a member)

            Mmm... Hmm...

They may be even tougher to wrangle than the Gaians (though I think the Gaians are... Bah... I don't want to think about the Gaians for today...).

And what's your assessment of this GeoModders capability(ies) (whichever team he turns out to be on)?

He's good, but not quite as good as his brother Maniac

Judging by the gaming talent, their team does seem like a tough nut to crack.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

My guess is he accidently clicked on the Morganite "Join" link without realizing it. Then he appears on their membership list, even if he hasn't been authorized by the Morganites themselves. I've also been a "member" of the Gaians for a while that way.

I guess that means that we send 2 probes when we attempt infiltration

Which in turn means a state of vendetta...

Or a rover to deal more efficiently with those pesky lawyers.

Never mind, that was the militarist speaking.

(Though purely theoretically speaking, would we be willing to start a very small-scale war to get infiltration? Eg after our limited-duration treaty runs out, use SCC Hunter to bombard their probe defence to 10% health, then land with two probes (one to destroy the heavily damaged probe and the other to infiltrate), and after the mission is succesful offer a treaty?)

                          Talking about "gunboat diplomacy".

AFAIK in PBEM games an infilitration is not taken to be a declaration of war (the game doesn't perceive it as such).

I did have a lan game where a fellow did do vendetta on me after an infiltration, but he had good reason to considering my alliances at the time.

Definitely, if the Hunter bombards the probe defender, we'll have a vendetta, but I'm not sure if a probe team attempting to infiltrate and encountering - and destroying - another probe team triggers a vendetta

I'm fairly sure in saying it doesn't.
