Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
While I'm presuming that by now they have probe defenders in every base, we could send SCC Hunter exploring around their coastline looking for other bases rather than doing its loop as we discussed
Or we could save that exploration role for the 3rd gunship (or trannie) out of Messen Bay
If the first probe failed, and the second just destroyed their probe, they'd have to declare vendetta on us to kill the probe. They'd have to repatriate it. Kinda funky, you can have massive probe warfare going on without any real action.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

Hmm - suggesting a "phalanx" of probe teams - 2 trannies' worth?
Not really. The cost would be enormous: another 90 minerals!

My fear is they have a defence attorney stationed in every base. Meaning they could just move a probe from an inland base to Vander Eudaimonics, making our attempt pointless. So if we'd want to infiltrate, it would probably have to be a quick one-turn action.
If an aggressive probe action (anything except infiltration) is used on a faction you have a truce, treaty or pact with, you must select 'Declare Vendetta' in the dialog box that appears afterwards, and notify the victim of your transgression, unless you have received permission in advance. No notification is required in other cases.
Okay. I was involved in the game where the ammendment of "truce" was made to this rule. So I remember this (I hope).
What happens, is that the 'Declare Vendetta' box pops up, even though it shoulden't. What should happen is that you are automatically at vendetta - works in single player games. But not in multiplayer games - where this is broken.
So if you tested it in the scenario editor, was it set up as a single-player game (against an AI faction), or against a human comtrolled faction?
Edit: Attacking another unit (or destroying a probe) is an act of war.
So does this mean, if the Data Angels try to get someone infiltrated, they must end up in war with them too? And more importantly, does this then mean that we'll end up in a war with the Morganites? I don't think it's that good an idea any more.

While updating the simulator with the University mineral and nutrient reserves, I found this (see pic below).
As you can see, there's a probe present in the base radius of this Uni Base.
I then put the pieces together:
Zak has ProgPsych while he didn't yet have it last year.
He has 25c less in his reserves than last year.
So someone traded him ProgPsych for 25c.
And who do we know has ProgPsych? The Morganites, as they're going after AdapEcon.
I then looked to the Morganite diplomacy window, and yes indeed, the University commlink can no longer be sold to them.
Morgan and Zakharov have met!
This could of course have large repurcussions for us.
From now on Morgan could trade or steal all those juicy technologies from Zak, instead of buying them from us.
On the other side, if he buys them from Zak, indirectly that cash could end up in our pockets when we conquer Zak.
