Also when they were less prepared for it. Sparta is a momentum faction, they can't win without attacking other factions. Even if all they have to do is destroy 2-3 towns each faction, that can allow them to get ahead in the tech race. They don't have to conquer us outright to win

Other than keeping them in the dark by building defensive probes to insure against inflitration, there isn't much we can do to prevent a Sparta attack. Therefore, we shouldn't spend resources on military when those resources can be better spent elsewhere. We need to do everything possible, EACH TURN, to increase our ability to research.

My gut feeling is that they won't attack immediately.

Yes we are using stockpile energy in the queue, though it is redundant when a facility is being built.

We'll need at least a rudimentary air force pretty soon, just to keep the Hive from causing too many problems with its eventual air force. 3-6 planes is not too much of an outlay, and they allow us to abuse ZoC rules and pick off annoying units in the open.

In 2164, the loaded Spartan transport has pulled up to our landbridge area, and I expect it to try to get its troops across our battle zone with the Hive, to a waiting transport on the other side. The problem with that is that I can't see a path for the units to take that won't leave them in our territory, visible to us.

I know it's the long standing plan but I don't like spending the EC's on the land bridge project. We've been lucky controlling the Hive with our MW's so far, and with a little more luck we'll have D:AP soon and we can defend with air power instead. For now, let's mind control that Gatling Rover instead. We may be able to bring it closer to home and use it in the event that Sparta attack us.

I badly screwed up my computer, and so probably won't be able to play our 2164 turn.

24 hour extension granted for someone else to play the turn.
