  • Plan of Action for 2163

We have probably finished producing colony pods for now, as desirable terrain is becoming scarce. Once we finish founding those bases, I suggest we switch to Democracy. 2 base sites are still up for debate; colony pods have what I think are good sites set as their destinations in the end-turn save.

In 2164, we will be able to start lowering our land bridge to Yang. This should take 8 years, though it could be thwarted should the Spartans take offense to our pact with the Morganites and send attack ships that way. On the other hand, it would be better to discover treachery now than later.

When should we start producing military units, and what sort should we produce? Though we have only laser weapons right now, I'm sure the Morganites would be eager to trade us Synth Fossil Fuels if the Spartan attack us. No AI is strong enough to warrant a military at this point.

I like defensive military units first - as I think we need to be prepared for some attack relatively soon. Some probe units scattered about so that we can respond to any square with relative ease would be good. PDs are good improvements. What about more sensors and fungus for protection? That's my 2 E.C.s

As I already opined, we need probe defenders to keep from being infiltrated.

About defenders - it's good to have them, but it's generally cheaper and more efficent to have attackers.
You will never know where enemy will strike, so you need a relatively big number to cover all cities, at the same time it's no problem attacking with mobile attackers when you actually see the target.

I personally am of the opinion that you can never have too many crawlers and formers.

As far as military goes, 2-1-2 are great units. They can serve as a primary offense for now, later they can be cheaply upgraded to 2e-1-2 for MW hunting/protection or to a higher weapon value.

For defense, use 1-2t-2 stationed between whatever 3 or 4 cities it can cover. Good spots would be in between Fallow Time and Flowers Preach. One to cover the Urainium Flats cities. And maybe one in the north. These give an adaptable defense, plus they are still good for attacking worms.

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger. It works the same in any country." -- Hermann Goering

What we need are units of Kegs........of Beer.

              No really.

              Heheh..

I am a dumbass and deserted our team. I apologize. CT plays the game I would play anyways (go CT, go!). On the other hand, perhaps my re-sobriety (hic) can add to our cultural output.

Skills I have that might add to the fun:

              I am a wonderful bull****ter.
              I can lie.
I can sell our diplomacy for profits we don't deserve.
I am still a little drunk.

              Oh!

I forgot to say hello. I am a Gaian. This is all that matters! And massive apologies for the slack that I did not pick up during my absence. Perhaps I can try to add something now. Use my skills as the Lady would have wanted, and we will win.

No special mods, SMAX, fully patched.

Just some home rules, like prohibition to use "chop and drop" strategy.

The chop and drop? Refers to an inhabition of a popular strategy involving attacking bases with choppers, something prohibited in this game.

Upon opening our turn, there's a Spartan transport with a 5~-1-2 and a battle ogre on it between our lands and Hive lands, making no attempt to conceal itself.
