      • Hmm - problem still persists.

        Opening the turn and then hitting "turn complete" exits the game to the Gaian save of 2200 just like before

        Drogue: can you confirm that it happens on your rig, and that it's not just mine that's corrupted?

        edit: it's in the turn - I tried it on my laptop - same result. I also tried capturing all 6 Morgan bases, but the game quits as Morgan is in the interrogation chamber (but we know that happens, it's a well documented PBEM issue - hence the convention of having the defeated player disband the last base)

        So it seems we are at somewhat of an impasse.

        I wonder if the game would advance if Morgan disbanded all remaining 6 bases in that 2200 turn? (sure, Sparta would lose 5 bases that otherwise we'd capture, but in the context of the game, having 43 instead of 48 bases won't kill us)

        Don't know if that would work though.

        Or maybe go back 1 player before Morgan, and have someone other than Kataphraktoi play that Angels 2200 turn, and see if that makes any difference

        • Actually, vishniac (in our private forum) had a better idea.

          As Sparta finished the 2199 turn and it moved on to Gaians 2200, why doesn't Drogue just advance every faction 1 turn from that year on to 2201, then give the Gaians 2201 to play

          The only net effect should be that we'll lose 1 year of sunspot activity (unless anyone had drone problems that results in a base defecting - or teh Hive sees an opportunity and launches a huge raid on Morgan Weapon Arm and captures it)

          Then, when the turn reaches us (ie Sparta 2201), if, when we play and save it prompts again for "Gaians 2201", we'll know the problem is systemic and unsolveable and just move on to ACDG4 or Civ4DG, or whatever

          • Is there even a active gaian turnplayer? I see only non-gaia's posting here for a few days.

            would he be opening the game in scen edit mode to do that,or just end turning?

            • He can't use the scenario editor - so would just open that good turn, hit "turn complete" for all 4 factions, just to advance the year to 2201, to see if we can advance from there

              And when I've been posting the Gaians turns, I've also e-mailed it to binTravkin, Chaos Theory and Net Warrior. So while it might look like no-one has downloaded the turn, they have been getting it and playing it

                Here's the gist of the e-mail:

                Still getting the same result with the new "uncorrupted" save - it prompts for a Gaian 2200 save when it should be 2201.

                vishniac suggested an alternative possible solution:

                Take the last Spartan save to the Gaians (the original 2200 one), then you just move 1 complete year clicking "turn complete" for each of the 4 factions (and obviously ignoring the "you have units still to move" prompt, and hopefully it will cycle through to Gaians 2201

                If they then play their turn, and the Angels & Morgan theirs, and we can get it to go to Gaians 2202, then we're back in business. If, however, after we play the turn it prompts for Gaians 2201, then I'm afraid the game is irreparably bust

                Sound like a plan?
                And here's that original Gaians 2200 save for you to advance all factions 1 turn

                  I've PM'd Method (I don't have an e-mail addy for him - if anyone else does, can you write him and point to this thread) in the hope that he might be reading his messages and can have a go at advancing the game that 1 year

                  But ..... being Christmas ..... I'm not holding my breath

                        • I left school last saturday, got home on tuesday, and I've been at work since then. Right now is the first second I've had in a week, so if I get a minute, I'll see what I can do about fixing this.

                            • Hi guys, sorry this has taken so long, I've no idea how I managed to not do this! Here's the Gaian's 2201 turn forwarded a year by pressing end turn on everyone's year once.

                              Hope this helps! Let's see if we can save this. However I can assure that the Morganite's 2200 save is uncorrupted for me, whereas the Spartans 2200 is, which means the problem has had to occur between those. Let's hope this works!

                              • So the problem might be at our end (Zeiter, who played the first few turns, finishing off the invasion, then me, who dealt with the formers/crawlers. build orders, etc etc)?

                                Lets hope then that this fix works (I've e-mailed the usual 3 Gaian Lords I send to in order to alert them that the turn is posted for them to replay their 2200 moves (now 2201)
