Therefore I like to ask the leaders of both factions if they can find themself in an unconditional truce or peace treaty without the need for repayments or whatever. Just let the past where it belongs and try to start with a clean slate.

/me wanders into the conference room, takes a surveying look around, nods to the Chairman and takes his seat.-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

Colonel Googlie enters the Conference chamber and takes his seat, the runner soon standing beside him.
Shaking his head, the Colonel rises and addresses the Conference:
”The Junta wishes me to convey to the Conference participants the position of the Federation vis-a-vis the Corporation. This is our official stance:"
Dropping his eyes to the small screen panel in front of him, he read:
In principle, the Federation is willing to consider dealing with the Corporation from a fresh perspective, but first we must insist that due payments unlawfully withheld be repaid immediately.
We refer, of course, to the 48 credits' suspended payments for Ethical Calculus, and the 50 credits that were unilaterally deducted from due payments by the Corporation
If, in this next Mission Year - 2170 - the Corporation can make restitution of these basic amounts, then the Federation will be open to negotiation regarding other real or perceived past injustices - on both sides. In addition, the Federation will be prepared to sign a Formal Truce in 2170, such truce to last until such time as differences are resolved, and we can proceed to treaty or even Pact status, or are deemed irreconcilable by both parties, in which case an uneasy truce will continue at the pleasure of the Corporation and the Federation together.
Without this clearing of the initial debt, however, the Junta struggles to see how a fresh start could be possible.
Note, however, that we have honoured the cease fire while this Conference is in session, notwithstanding the undermining of genuine peace efforts by some attendees who have been active in ensuring the widespread proliferation of Air Power throughout Chiron

The Colonel also passes a note to the delegates of the Gaian Union
You will be relieved to note that our armoured brigades currently enjoying your monolithic hospitality at Oaken Shadow have now embarked on their transport and have vacated your coastal waters.
The Federation thanks the Union for its understanding and forbearance while our troops were repairing their vehicles and restoring their morale.

/me crosschecks with his own intel sources.
Ahum, I see. The Spartan Federation is thanked for their efforts and fighting reluctance sofar outside the conference doors. I suppose we just have to wait on what the Board of Directors has to say on this.
Since there is some communication started between the two main warring factions, I like to ask now on the Gaian representative the Council of Lords view on their war with the Spartan Federation.

Equality in the terms of military technology should be acheived to even ensure the possibility of a real peace.
I hope I don't have to tell the people gathered here what would happen if someone reinvents nuclear bombs and decides to use this advantage in the way the Federation has been using it's Air Power!"
/me speaks out in a loud voice.
"The Gaian position regarding peace will be presented here in little time.."
