It's not that bad, for a really premium imported beer. It's about the most expensive beer you can buy here.
UK (midland - add half again for London, take away a bit for the north) beer prices:
Carlsberg or other cheap crap: £1-1.50 per pint (~57cl)
English ale: £1.50-2.20 per pint
Stella Artois: £1.80-2.20 per pint
Guiness: £1.80-2.20 per pint
Hoegaarden: £1.80 per half (~28cl)
Leffe: £2 per half
Belgium fruit beers: £2 per half
Delirium Tremens, or other very premium foreign beer: £2-3 per bottle (33cl).
This would be usual pub price (where you can get them). In a club, a bottle of something normal (MGD, Corona, etc.) would be £3, pints about the same, if they're served.
Spirits anything from £1-3 a shot (£3 is usual for Balkan or Absinthe). Cocktails £3-4 (with 2 shots of spirit), Martinis £4-5 (with 3-4 shots of spirit).
You can get drunk on £15 if you want to, or you can spend £40-50 per person if you want a long night out, with clubs and cocktails most of the night. If you can find student nights/happy hours, it's possible to have a whole night and end up plastered on £10 (most uni's have cheap bars, Oxford has the legendary £1 a pint union bar).

't Is a bit confusing. What we call a 'pint' here is a beer from the tap (usually .25 cl). Prices go around € 1-1,25, dependant of the pints' brand and the sort of bar (student bar, workers cafe,...)
Mind you, it's been a while since I attended a regular bar, so things might have changed...

Hey MWIA, how've you been...btw, join the Spartans, be evil, you know you want to
<Kassiopeia> you don't keep the virgins in your lair at a sodomising distance from your beasts or male prisoners. If you devirginised them yourself, though, that's another story. If they devirginised each other, then, I hope you had that webcam running. Play Bumps! No, wait, play Slings!

Because they're weak.
The Spammers of the Old Days had much more energy and endurance...it was really a joy to see them in action, but this younger generation is weak and too easily intimidated by the likes of Ming and Rah. They lack the heart and determination for it.
I really don't think it's the affuence of the Ming Power. It is simply the lack of thoughts in their minds ...

I however have attended more bars last year...
For a 'pintje' of Stella, € 1-1.50 is most likely. For 33 cl of Leffe, 2 to 3 euro (that's about the most expensive it ever gets for any beer).
About the same as here then. Although a 440ml can of Stella from a supermarket will still cost ~80p/€1.20 at the least. We don't have much difference between pub prices and supermarket prices.
