is there a way to be able to check out all of the forums for the teams and not join?im interested in whats going on but i would like to watch everyone...but i cant think of a way to make that work so i probably cant.

Join Gaia! In order to join, click the 'Join' button next to the factions name, and PM the faction leader... Illuminatus for Gaia. The rest, I'm not sure, just ask. I think Mart is Angel, Googlie is Sparta, and no idea for Morgan. Micha?

So of those four I think the Spartans fit your description most. To be repeat something I said a while ago in this thread:
