The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

New poll about modifications to the next ACDG game
Hmmm. The Democracy game setup sounds predictable and boring. Not much chance for role playing with only the early game being ‘open’ (e.g. – directed research w/B-lines; critical techs/uber-units not really limited).
Factors that will make this game boring/uninteresting for me:
* Unrestricted use of nerve gas (defender=die) [except against aliens ]
* Directed research (I’ve given up on this one since there is so little interest in the challenge in semi-directed research; we have a lot of control freaks out there in SMAC land)
* Games with uber-units (choppers, and air power to a lesser extent) [in my PBEM's choppers are ignored, for obvious reasons]
As I see it every faction will be forced down the same road or be roadkill. There won’t be much room to take a different course; the penalty is death. There would seem to be almost no chance for real role playing, which why I was interested in the first place.
It is already an improvement over the present game that choppers will have limits, Hydro.
The longer it takes before those can go fullout, the more chance a faction can defend itself with AAA.
