The Hive was a great team, and I'm proud to have been a member, and I'm always going to have good memories of it. It went downhill when the team became too focused on winnng the game, to the exclusion of having fun.

And I remember Kody straining at the flood control

Despite all talks about changing factions here, there is still a rule. And as long as that rule is in effect, and even a teams authoriser refuses to admit 'defectors' from other factions on a wimp, no one should be allowed to move over. At least, not as long as their home faction exists.

As in general, IF that rule is trashed, a 2 turn waiting period seems appropriate for those moving to another faction. About leaking info, well, defectors are offen tempted by their new homeland to do so. It all depends for what reasons the 'defections' happen.

I hereby seek refugee asylum in the censored faction in case things become that bad...

This game has in my estimation passed the point where it will make any difference beyond the symbolic level and so I have no problem with anyone going anywhere. Besides that - the members involved here have to my knowledge behaved examplary and chose a proper moment to announce their disagreement with the rest of the team - so really they have my confidence.

For future games though I believe the "no defection" policy to be the correct one. Members changing allegiance halfway is just an invitation to endless quarrels and ballooning paranioa.

I'm tempted to agree with Comrade Tassadar. If we are to allow defections at all (which I will add, were banned, after Tassadar jumped from Uni to the Hive when the game began), which I believe we should not, there should be a two, if not five, turn waiting period, as well as a strict gag order in regard to prior knowledge.

Then again, I'm still against defections. There's too much danger in it to think about, really. And, again, I'll point to our own god Tass's defection and the ban placed on them oh so long ago.
