I agree!!! Against the computer it is just a matter of winning better than the last time. Against humans it will be a matter of survival. Having to defend against large scaled and well planned invasions. Tricking your opponent into beleiving that you will strike in a particular location, when in fact you'll strike in another less defended area. Multiplayer will indeed make this a challenging and exciting game.

I just had a thought. Did you install patch 1.17? That patch crashes games saved from 1.16.

Make sure you have the right version of the editor, too. if you modified the civ3mod.bic file at all with the wrong editor version, that could cause the crash. Sorry if you already knew this

No game post - too slow to get off the island, no chance of dominations etc, and lost the space race by 2turns....

But the big question is - what about the next one?

Mark, don't you know that some of us are checking the site four times a day looking for the new tourney? Withdrawal is setting in.

Yeah I check often as well. Which leads me this guestion. Is there any way that we can "subscribe" to the tourny home page? That way we will automatically recieve emails advising us of a new tournament and of past game posted results.

must admit I check the tourny page several times a day

would be nice to have a guesstimate of the release date, so that if it's not planned until the end of the week for instance, we don't frantically hit the refresh button of our explorer again and again!

                Domination in 1810 = 4203 pts

A bit late to submit maybe ...
I was attacked by all civs except the Romans but nothing spectacular or new except for the "unbreakable Babylonian spearman".
attached to the saved file in the Zip is a log of main events from 4000 BC to 800 AD for those interested.

Ok, now it is getting silly... another week on and still no game...

                  Or should we be worried?

Mark, what has happened to you? Are you alright? please talk to us!

Maybee. Whatever the reason I wish that he would have told us something. I wonder how many combined hours we have all wasted, checking to see if the new game had been posted, or if the past results had been posted. I think an update would have been a drop in the bucket(time wise) compared with all of the "checking back" that we have done.

                          need a hand?

Ok, if our noble leader cannot help us, how about a home grown?

Anyone think they have a nice starting position to post up as a zip?

'they've got the guns but we've got the numbers...' as the late Jim M would say....

Ok, to all those who are waiting for the next official tourney, and getting bored, (like me), try this (unofficial march/april game).

Regent level, Aztecs, standard (random) size map - 7 other civs.

Complete change to last game (which I thought was Bl**dy difficult), anybody new to the tournament should be able to survive, and those that get good scores (esp monarch and higher! ) will be posting some awesome scores - and letting me know where I went wrong!

Standard rules apply and patch 1.17f

Thanks for the game JediSloth. I made a game as well. I had a tough time deciding wheither to post it or not. In the end I decided since I spent the time making it, I might as well post it. It's a tiny sized map with three opponents so It'll be a quick game if anyone chooses to play it. It to is a little different than the standard fare game, as it was made from scratch and I attempted to make it a little more aestically pleasing as well as a little more resource rich for a quicker game.

You play as the Iroquois(I think the SU Mounted Warrior will come in quite handy for this map)
Your opponets are the Aztecs, Egyptians, and Zulu(all have Ancient Era SU-should make it interesting)
This is a Monarch level game, all victory types enabled, and barbarians are roaming
Patch 1.17f is the standard and all normal tourny rules apply

Good luck should you choose to play

                                Added on March 22 0755(PMT)
I've played a number of turns of this game and find it to be quite enjoyable. It's a fast game, I think some may finish in early AD. The level is Monarch, but due to the lush starting position it feels more like a Regent. It is a nice change from computer generated maps.
