I admit I used more Cavalry that I thought I would. The simple reason was that I'm used to the AU Mod, which gives infantry an attack of 8, giving Cavalry an attack value of 5. This means that once Infantry is there, there's not much use for Cavalry. In this Sumerian game, with stock rules, Cavalry turned out to be a good attacker, even against Riflemen.
With a constant stream of reinforcement and little losses anyway, Sumerian forces were able to execute the plan without too much trouble. After the dust cleared, the Sumerian territory was more than doubled and the Dutch were a mere speck on the map. The only possessions they had left, were some cities they had taken from the Byzantines and from the Spaniards.
This is how the Sumerian military regime looked like, 1585 AD. The save is in a post earlier in this thread.
