or hit the windows keys. Although in some games, it causes my game and sometimes computer to crash.

I get my games confused ( I play so many), but in some games I cannot go to windows using Alt-Tab unless I have another window (such as a browser) open.

Ok hold the presses..small problem has risen..

I have it down pat on the desktop issue BUT when say I get done checking my email & return to game..I am missing my bottom screen part where u make a pick for what the unit should do, i.e. irrigation, mine, roadway or clear damage of whatever..

I am expecting it is a shortcut key I must have hit..any help?

Kinda embarrasing but i will learn!!

      Thanks

          sorry it doesnt..

I tried the "." key on right side near the numbers (doubles as a delete key also..

What the . key "DOES" is restores or removes alternatly the three button at top..

          One is for the mapgrid/save/quit,ect.

          One is for the advisors

one is for the civilopedia, IIRC

The buttons i am trying to restore are the one at "Bottom" that allow you to build roads/railroads/clear terrain/build mine/clear damage, ect.

          Thx for the help though!

Odd. "." Removes and restores the whole interface for me. Not sure what's up; perhaps it's a bug with coming back to Civ3, though I don't have a problem like that with doing so.

might be a problem with the game interaction with his graphics card. I have no problems when going back- usually

When I go to my email Microshaft Outlook even my outlook wont show the whole normal screen..to close i have to shrink by toggling back to game then going to desktop and "right clicking" on bottom of screen to close it..

Oh well..must be a graphics issue then??

                Thx for all the input...

This is a driver issue almost certainly. Try to use say F3 to get it to refresh the screen and then exit the f3 screen, hopefully that will repaint it.

                      GPT:

It is most likely that either you have your monitor set to a low resolution or your resolution settings were reset to the default. Check your monitor resolution settings, they should be set to the maximum when plaing CIV III.

Skipped the thread, but this can work by:

-Setting your monitor to CIv's standard resolution (it's 800x640 right?)

-Adding the "keepres=1" line to the c3c .ini file in the Conqeusts folder
meet the new boss, same as the old boss

Nope, it's 1024x768. It's actually quite difficult to make it run under 800x600.

Civ's default resolution setting is 1024 X 768. Your suggestion would reduce Civ's resolution to 800 X 600. Either way should work but I like the higher resolution monitor setting. The main problem is a conflict when the system keeps changing resolution settings back from your desktop setting to Civ's (and many other games) settings. As VMXA has suggested, its probably a driver based error, but this is the best way to fix it IMO.

I was running my screen on 800 X 600 but switched to the CIV default resolution of 1024 X 768....

So far so good and I thank you all for the help...

with the exception of the Pit Vipers that roam OT in all my years here I have allways gotten courteous and somewhat professional help (not necessariy with all my personal problems but with this type at least) even like one of the first posters here..trying to be of assistance and thats the way we all learn..

Ok..i have been playing Conquets for twenty minutes and tried going back and forth between Microshaft Outlook and also Internet Explorer and no problems as of this moment..

                              Thx all again
