242 Hours! Thats 10 days! Mad Monk IS mad.

I usually play tiny or small maps because I hate managing tons of cities and I have a slow CPU (500Mhz).

Long games are good too. Real wars can last months or years (unless you were the Israelis in 1967).
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is not a vice." -- Barry Goldwater, 1964 GOP Nomination acceptance speech (not George W. Bush 40 years later...)

Of course the game was not an Ironman game otherwise I'd just be nuts

        P.S.
I had around 250 cities by the time the game ended

Ugh 250 cities ... Micro-management Nightmare.. I cringe thinking about the corruption.

I tend to leave my games running almost all the time, but if a game lasts 2 weeks, and i play 4 hours a day... Thats 56 hours. Seems about right.
I don't know how you could complete a game in a meager 35 hours.
