No, it is an attempt to say why you shouldn't just mod them in

Holy elephants! By crikey! Great squids of wrath!

      (other exclamations of surprise)

8 Civs? How can they find 8 Civs?

      I can only think of:

      1) Portuguese
      2) Dutch
      3) Israelites
      4) Khmers
      5) Incas
      6) Polynesians
      7) Ethiopia/Mali
      8) Maya

I suspect either Poland or Assyria will be in by popular demand, but I'm sure of the Maya. Actually, I'm rather disappointed by so many American civs lumped so closely. I remember seeing an interview saying that the Firaxians wanted the Mayans in, so I'll gamble my nose that they shall be in...

I would expect the new one to be independant from PTW and include all of its features.

          Crumbs. Didn't notice Pages 2, 3.

          According to that Firaxis bit...

Islamic Sultanates? Sumerians? ENKIDU WARRIORS? Why not phalanxes? Ah well. Mayans? Trebutchets? Disasters? Statue of Zeus? Jade? 'Backey? All this is mind blowing. Why didn't they stick it in PTW?

Well, thew were something written about a singleplayer campaign. But it might have been a missunderstanding from tht part.

              Incas, Finally!

Finally, I get my Incas. They were a hidden civ back in Civ II, and I had hoped they'd be in Civ III, but at least they'll make it in this XP!

Since rush building is basically human sacrifice, I think the Inca should get a rush-building bonus!

I am not buying any XP that does not fix the diplomacy problem in hotseat (once a deal is broken, you can no longer declare war or even see the active deals). I've bought PTW just because of hotseat, and unless this is fixed I refuse to buy anything else.

The worst is by being a programmer myself, I know that the fix is simple, somebody is leaving a dangling pointer in a list after the object is deallocated. A problem that could be fixed in 2 hours max (including testing) if the source if available!

That's what irritates me the most.....

I think they should get a tile improvement to increase food production on mountains and the ability to build mountain cities. Machu Pichu and even some farms around Cuzco use terraces built ino the sides of mountains (with soil brought from valleys below) to grow some food. It would be nice if these could co-exist with mines so that Mountains don't produce enough food to sustain a city but the terraces give the Inca a boost.

Conquests: Posting bets on the new

I think they are (should be):

                    Civilizations

                    1) Mayan
                    2) Incan
                    3) Sumerian/Assyrian
                    4) Ethiopian/Moors
                    5) Hebrews
                    6) Khmer
                    7) Java
                    8) Portuguese

                    Governments

                    1) Fascism
                    2) Tribal /Communalism
                    3) Fundamentalism
                    4) Libertarianism

                    or (What say you?)

                    Volcanoes, Snowstorms, Earthquakes, sound great.

Using the UN for more than just diplomatic history, but to form a new taxing, effectual entity that gets voted on (based on some average score of culture, power, diplomatic relations, etc) would be fabulous.

What kind of bonus could island bound civs get that match the real history of subjugation and colonization?

they have to throw in an Aussie civ for sheer worldmapnessocity.

The Maori would be a good one for that region.

PS I think one of the west coast North American tribes would be good as well, like the Haida.

                          MadMannixx :
they refused to put fondamentalism because of 09/11/2001 and Fascism for the "same" reason I think...

I dont know where they will find option to change in any new type of government. There not so much option in the editor to create so much governement. The only thing I find they miss... a good "war" government in modern era. Communism can be good, but you cannot hurry production with money.

So I create a Fascism government, when you discover "Corporatism"... now, you're are able to fight in modern era without suffer from War Weariness or taken some old government type like Monarch.

well, some of those things seem to be interesting... better (or expanded) diplomacy, new terrain elements, map features and disasters could make things worth it, I suppose.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

I hope they decide to have some scenarios like Civ II:TOT. I really enjoyed being able to settle on multiple worlds. The Science Fiction game had some interesting units & advances. The Midgard scenario was interesting, too.

What I think is that they are adding a bunch of historical scenarios like the WWII and Rome scenarios in CivII. Then, in the main game, all this lovely stuff.

I do think Fundamentalism will be in. Listen: "Governments - Forming an Islamic Sultanate is just one of the new ways to rule your people." Sounds like Fundamentalism to me.

I suspect a zoo or something to that effect will be a new city addition, for we have exotic birds listed as a resource.

What do you think about Statue of Zeus? "Makes your troops really powerful..."
