  • I was playing with my t-44, i tweaked the tracks and roadwheels as well as fixed the shadowing underneath the treads,
I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!
Rules are like Egg's. They're fun when thrown out the window!
Difference is irrelevant when dosage is higher than recommended!

      • Da plane! Da plane!

I already posted these in Patine's Pacific war scenario thread, but just in case some of you aren't frequenting it. I will post them here too. There is a touched up Spitfire (fairline/Nemo), a touched up Zero (catfish/Nemo), one P-40 Warhawk (all mine baby), and a Kittyhawk in the service of the RAAF (mine too). Damn it feels good to be back!

Edit: Look a couple of posts down for the planes.

I like those strange Nemo/Fairline/Catfish mutant Panzers by Erika too!

                • Does anyone know if the Kittyhawk had the teeth like it's American cousin. I am having a hell of a time finding any pictures of them in Aussie service. I have found a couple of pics of Brit P-40's, is it safe to assume they would have the same color scheme? Case I am looking in your direction.

                  • Oh and thanks Gareth and Curt, I think these are definatly the best I have done in a long time. In order to get a camo version I might need to call on some help, anybody up for it?

                    • Sorry, I found some pics of Aussie kittyhawks and did some tweaking. So here is the newest P-40.

P.S. Does anyone know if the Yank P-40 should have the stars and bars or the circle star on the wing? I am also going to try and make a believable Nationalist Chinese insignia for the AVG. Now I just need someone who can do a good camo job.

                      • If they are for ToT, I will happily do some camo layers for you.

If you can post an image of the camo style, I will have a crack at it...

The shark mouth and eyes scheme was devised by one of the British squadrons flying P-40s in N. Africa, and was then copied by the Flying Tigers. Don't know if the Aussies copied it as well. As for the cammo scheme - the Brits only used the P-40 in N. Africa IIRC and so the camo scheme was sand/earth brown which would not have been used by Australian squadrons in the Pacific.

EDIT: I hadn't let the page load the pic you posted above

Looks like the Australians used standard Brit pre1943 temperate camo of dark earth / dark green...
