Daily Danger has attached these units:

    2) sdkfz 232-2
    3) sdkfz 234
You can use these armored vehicles as recon units.

    1) staghound, a british armored vehicles.
    2) Carrier SP 40mm Bofors on Morris C9/B Lorry. The British used this AA-unit for example in the Cyreneika.

      • Yes, very nice indeed.

as for mine, I am not sure if I like them. The front lewis guns look to small compared to the rear set. Also I tried to show how the SAS would cut out the grille to aid cooling, but I think now it makes it look crooked. I also tried to put Jerry(?) cans on the hood and side, but both of those looked so bad i decided just to leave them out. If someone else can improve upon these gfx I would leove to see the result.

        • Not sure where to place this, but I thought this would be as good a place as any

This is my modified default UNITS file for the reguler Civ2 game.

Feel free to use this for your game. Simply place it inside your Civ2 default game directory. Back up your orginal units file.

Please note: this units file is a BMP file. If your original Units file is a gif file, simply store it somewhere.

          Enjoy!

          • This is my modified terrain1.gif file.

            Feel free to use it

Simply place it inside your default Civ2 game directory. Be sure to backup your original.

Note: The goody-hut has been replaced by a long-lost ancient pyramid. Kinda makes exploring a bit more fun

            • And last, but not least, here is the default cities.gif I use for my default game.

It is from Tim Smith's HiRes Modpack. I have not altered it in any way. I am merely presenting it here for your viewing (and possibly using) pleasure

I use all three files presented here in my default game, and I think it tends to give a somewhat different feel and look to my Civ2 default games. I hope you enjoy them

Be sure to backup you cities.gif file, and place this new cities.gif file into your default Civ2 directory.

                • I hate to sound crabby, but these threads are supposed to be for new units, etc. that have been created by the person posting them. Not for posting entire sheets of old graphics that are already in circulation.

Well, the UNITS.BMP has only unit graphics on it, and since all three files are inter-related, and should be used together, I decided to post them here.

                    What's the big deal?

                      You are sounding crabby

The UNITS.BMP DOES have MANY new and modified units. If you look closely, the default UNITS.BMP I posted contains 16 new and/or modified units, and 26 units fall into the WW2-1979 time era.

The terrain.gif also contains new modifications.

Besides many new people (and older ones) to Civ2 are unaware of these graphics. I have spent many hours searching the entire web for the best graphics I could find. If I couldn't find them, I decided to modfy them.

I have done all the work of putting these graphics together so people can have a better default game. I am presenting this work for the benefit of the Civ2 community.

I don't think people who have downloaded them and are using them, are complaining.

                      Have a nice day
