I dunno, maybe your right Case Are these any better?
Lots better
Bear in mind that Australians and New Zealanders towards the end of the pacific campaign tended to wear US olive green fatigues rather more than British-pattern jungle fatigues
The Australians wore a odd mix of British, American and Australian uniforms, the exact mix of which often differed from soldier to soldier and battalion to battalion (the Australian Army has never been particularly enthusiastic on enforcing uniform guidlines in combat zones).

fairline please tell me, is that XIV shield for Australia/NZ?
The XIV tactical sign was for the British/Indian 14 Army, which was the major command in the Burma theatre.
Just to boast a little, I recently picked up a first edition copy of Field Marshal Slim's Defeat into Victory at a second hand book sale for $10 It's full of fold out maps and is very cool.

yep - I was going to draw an Aussie from a source pic that showed him wearing a slouch hat and Australian khaki shirt, US marine trousers and gaitors and British equipment modified with Owen gun pouches Quite a mix there!

Is it a good read? For those not in the know, Slim is regarded as perhaps the best British general of WW2; he took over command of 14th Army and fought a successful campaign to drive the Japanese back through Burma.
Never!!!! I won't be satisfied until every fighting vehicle, siege engine, and ground pounder to ever see combat is rendered in glorious detail by your amazing talent.

Yep, it's very good - it's often considered to be the best of all the WW2 Generals memoirs. It's very honest and gives a clear account of the campaign.

10$! Are you sure there was no petty larceny involved?
No, it was at a large second hand book fair run by amateurs, and they often don't appreciate the value of certain books. For instance, last year I bought over $500 worth of official WW2 histories for less then $100
