News from France:
France declares neutrality
France is from this day a neutral nation. Due to a number of events all political leaders have agreed that this was a right decision to take. Political events in Europe are so full of hate and human folly that our nation have got enough of it.
France is therefore no longer a part of the Mediterranean alliance, and have no commitments to any country what so ever. Our nations independence and real democratic values will be defended at any cost but we will not again join an alliance. France's ultimate goal is peace and understanding, and acting on behalf of this our decision has been made.

...and he (King Caspian) wanted to be the first world leader to publicly congratulate the French government on its decision to take a neutral stance. The Spanish people are much impressed with the bravery in these dangerous times, choosing a peacefull approach to diplomacy over violence ......... And he (Caspian) truelly believes that armed camps have no place in the 20th century......."aiding empire builders and war mongorers only".

Germany Greets French Nuetrality With Suspision
The German Nation, charter member of the CUE, holds suspisions against France for her sudden call for nuetrality. Though many other CUE nations are nuetral to the issue, Germany feels that France cannot be trusted with her word, first saying one thing, only to go back with no notice and do but the opposite. Bastiate, the German CUE embassador to France was said to be booted out when he asked for reassurance concerning this issue. He is reported to have said, 'beware of lions in donkey skins.'
Budapest Ammunition Factory Opens!
One of many that have been built this year, the new Budapest Ammunition Factory is said to host state of the art machinary to manufacture weapons of war should the need arise. Boilderh Lunartic, the factory overseer, is quoted to have said, 'and we don't just make weapons. No, we can make everything from nuts to bolts, houses to barracks, and even the kitchen sink!' 'This is just the begining,' Ioannes is quoted, 'CUE will be the arsenal for democracy, a beacon of hope in a world of promise breakers.'
Markets Continue Up
The Berlin Market went up yet again, for the third consecutive time this week. Anylists are saying this phenomanon is due to anything from a sense of unity in Germanic nations to France's betrayl of her Mediterannean Allies. Some caution was seen however, as war in the upcomming years is greatly feared. But the sense of power and faithful allies has calmed such fears, adverting a depression.

EXTRA, EXTRA! Extra number of the Rome Times:
France betrays her friends and declares herself "neutral"!
Today France declared that she is now "Neutral" and that she "forfiets" the meditereanean alliance.
This move baffles millitary analysists and diplomats alike, Giovanni Loeratio an expert in strategical diplomacy is said to have concluded that "France has just signed her own death sentence", when asked for a comment the same expert said that:
"Obviously France is counting fully on those which she has previously hinted to as her friends, the russians, to defend her (which makes her neutrality a joke), but I wonder: Why turn your back on your allies, who are bound by a treaty to protect you, to instead rely on a completely different nation, which is currently allied to Frances' enemies and which isnt bound by any official treaty?
Apparently France is pretty sure that Russia will help her, but even if they do (which I doubt as they have nothing binding them to do so other than, possibly, the prommises from the russian foreign emmisary), will that be enough?
France has just gotten two new enemies (Italy and Turkey), adding them to the two she allready has (Germany and Brittain) she has effectively gotten every major non-neutral power in europe beside Russia against her."
The president of Italy, Henriko Lohmandero, stated in an interview (fully featured on page 3) that:
"France was never a good ally, the prommises made by the former premier: Poincare Vietminh, was not followed by his succesor, the cooperation between France, Italy and the Ottoman Empire was marked by several ultimatums from France, which the other Italy and Turkey refused.
Finally the little german prank of threating France, should she not uphold the meditereanean alliance (which several officials in germany has confessed was done solely to divide the alliance) ended with France leaving it."
France has proven to be very easily manouvered by her enemies as well as very distrustfull to her friends. It is the belief of this paper that France now, in the words of Giovanni Loerattio, "has signed her own death sentence"...
Germany starts millitaristic buildup!
In response to France getting rid of her allies Germany has started a gigantic buildup of her millitary.
In all probability this should be taken as a serious warning to the now isolated Republic of France, to buildup her defences...
American President assassinated!
The United States is in shock after the death of President William McKinley, from wounds suffered when he was shot last week in Buffalo, New York. Mckinley is the third US President to be assassinated.
The fatal incident ocurred at the Pan-American Exhibition in Buffalo on 14 September. As the President greeted admirers he was shot at point-blank range by Leon Czolgosz, the son of Polish immigrants. The mantle of the presidency was passed to the vice-president, Theodore Roosevelt.
Italy formaly sent her condoleances to the people of the United States.
