I can't draw to save my life, but why not pinch a mountain from the terrain 2 gif of a scenario and use that as a reference. There's quite a few good mountain sets out there!

So where's the Hooligans....?
Now I know this would never see the light of day....but a "Clockwork Orange" scenario....now that could stir up some Civ controversy! Please put Asher on your ignore list.
Please do not quote Asher.
He will go away if we ignore him.

One idea that I once had:
Make a US Presidential race Scenario. The number of cities is fixed, and there are no settlers. Each civ represents a political party. Win by controlling an appropriate number of victory objectives, or "Electoral Votes". Obviously a major military focus. Trade is donations, city size is zeal, production is volunteers, happiness is confidence...
Unfortunately, I did not feel I knew enough about campaigning to make it work. So I welcome you to give it a shot. Also known as Souron.

What do you know? A good scenario requires a good tech tree, and a good tech tree requires more than passive knowledge of the subject. So you have to pick a subject you know a lot about, want to research about, or can cobble up stuff at great length about. Also known as Souron.

Cool! Check out Kobayashi's Star Trek - Battle for Alpha Quadrant. This is my favourite space colonization scenario. Its really well made, the Tech tree is well thought out and the graphics are really good too.
My advice for scenario creation is to not try and re-invent the wheel. Some aspects of Civ2 can be modified heavily, but try too hard and the scenario will be so unfarmiliar players will struggle to get into it. Look at as many similar scenarios as you can fins. Use the best ideas and graphics and just credit your sources. There isn't much in my scenarios that is totally original. I just cherry pick the best bits from scenarios I like and try to combine them to make something even better.

There will be at least two already developed alien civilizations. The tech tree will split into three branches - Human, Alien, and what they both can get.
I think I will call the scenario a metaphorical name, "Seputus Navis," which I have found to mean something along the lines of sunken ship after research on several sites.Last edited by Ravlon the Magnificent; July 13, 2010, 11:05.
