I re-downloaded it and it works exactly as it should. Something on your end is FUBAR.

Please excuse me for butting in but I just downloaded the Union Apr1862.rar and it opens correctly to a flashing Union END OF TURN.
FUBAR? Brings back memories of fubarite, the generic geological term for any metamorphic rock that a geologist can't recognize.
Gareth, could it be that rather than a case of FUBAR, you have a SNAFU on your hands?
EDIT: Please see next post.Last edited by AGRICOLA; February 5, 2010, 02:01. Reason: Finally gave the a bit of thought to possible source of problem.Excerpts from the Manual of the Civilization Fanatic :

Tech and fairline, would you please check that your RULES file has the following parameters for Grant
Gen. Grant, nil, 0, 8.,0, 15a,0d, 7h,2f, 14,0, 3, U2, 000000001000000
Grant appears during the Union April 1962 turn when the problem starts, and differing values for his Mv would account for the his odd behaviour. Either fairline has a value > 8 or tech has a value < 8. Either will produce the problem.Last edited by AGRICOLA; February 5, 2010, 02:03.Excerpts from the Manual of the Civilization Fanatic :

Good spot John. Looks like its is a case of SNAFU:
Gen. Grant, nil, 0, 10.,0, 18a,0d, 6h,2f, 14,0, 3, U2, 000000001000000
OK Brian, I guess I'm using the wrong version of the scenario. That might account for some of the other glitches we've been having. I guess you reduced the good general's movement pts for the version you have. Can you mail me the latest please?

The Reluctant Republican
GRANT SIEZES KENTUCKY!
Nashville Threatened, W Virginia Under Union Control
The Army of the Ohio, under newly appointed Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, has crossed the Ohio River at several points and occupied the neutral state of Kentucky. This was in response to appeals from Unionist state officials who warned of a Confederate invasion. Similar threats to the neutrality of West Virginia has also resulted in Union forces taking control of most of that state. Leading elements of the Army of the Ohio are now just 20 miles north of Nashville.
Gen. Grant's rapid campaign resulted in moderate casualties for the Union army. One artillery unit, a regiment of regular infantry, and a regiment of Michigan state militia were lost in Kentucky, while heavy fighting for Wheeling, the capital of W Virginia caused the loss of one militia and one regular regiment. In all, 8 regiments of Neutral militia which sided with the Rebels were destroyed, and 16 regiments of milita that stayed neutral were disarmed by Union troops.
Meanwhile, in the eastern theatre, things remain fairly static, with Confederate Gen. PGT Beauregard continuing to manouver aimlessly in the Allegheny mountains, while the much-heralded recapture of Norfolk seems to have stalled. Union naval forces conducted shore bombardments of Williamsburg, destroying one militia unit.Attached Files

Victory in the Shenandoah (sp) - 1 arty and 1 inf defeated
1 arty defeated in the east.
1 cav defeated in the west, with the loss of ex-general Hood who appears to have been demoted to CSA cavalry by the rules changeAttached Files

Good thing. Hood isn't supposed to appear until the time of the siege of Atlanta in 1864.
