Help with space scenario

Hey! Cool! I'm making a space scenario too! Instead of using different terrain for different stars, I used resorse spaces. Normal star terrain is STAR, and is yellow. Red Jiant is red, and is the first resorse. White Dwarf is the second resorse and is smaller and white/yellow.
I used the Orion stuff too, but I made a planet myself. It is the EARTH terrain. It is the earth and the moon near it.
I have an idea for hyperspace-- WORMHOLES!
Use two railroad ends and a road conecting. Make the road invisable, and the railroads look like space but with specks and stuff. I have only a few, and the roads allow 1/10 movement. The phase craft makes its own wormholes, it gets alpine with 1/10!
I think you should make nukes less powerful, like 26 attack, because a nuke does not kill a whole solar system. It would damage only a small part of a planet.

Oh um... I thought of all this myself too. I didn't copy, and I have not read this, in fact, its my first day here!
Its like on the Simpsons when Homer invents a light bulb, and then finds someone beat him too it. So he goes to the museum where it is held to destroy the evedence! HAHAHA! That is my favorite one!

Michael, by what you've told me your map system is different than mine, cause your different stars will only show up on terrains that have resources on them, with my map system i place a star in a specific place, and planets around it (adgecent squares), let me explain, S = Star, P = Planet slot (may or may not have planet), s = Normal space, X = Impassable terrain:

That represents one solar system, as you can see the star is allways in the middle, the planets are somewhere adgecent to the star, there's normal space and impassable terrain that will seperate solar systems but allowing you to move to another system in specific locations (N, E, S, W). Remember the actual map is not exacly like that cause its made of diamonds, cant represent those in text here.

A short history of events from 2138 to 2298
March 23, 2138 to 2179 A.D.
Earth was finally contacted by aliens.
By then, the planet was in chaos. A
major war had destroyed the planet.
The aliens, called the Xhi'nia, gave
us knowledge, and helped us establish
a world government. They showed us how
to travel faster then light, and we gave
them salt, something they desperately need,
but have little of.
2180 to 2270 A.D.
The Humans built many colonies, including a
base on a terran world called New Sol. The
people of New Sol had their own Government,
but was still loyal to Earth.
2271 A.D.
The Galactic Empire, ruling from Earth, had
colonized most stars with planets now, and
was expanding toward what will soon be known
as the "dead zone". They then discovered the
Hentt'ar (see info on aliens) They had a semi
nomad trading empire, consisting mainly of
Hentt'ar and Xhi'nia, with a few surviving
Gagnons from out in the unexplored parts
of space. Their homeworld was somehow destroyed
in battle, but they don't know by who. Stories
vary, and many are not trusted.
2272 A.D.
Tensions are rising between the Empire of New Sol
and the Xhi'nia. Earth is neutral, but the fleet
of starships is standing by to stop any wars. But
this is the least of Earth's problems. A group of
people, decendents of those loyal to the former
United States, have risen to power and stolen much
of the Galactic Empires war ships. They have named
themselves The new nation of NASA, and have taken
over a planet called New Houston. Also, several
ships have come upon a "dead zone", a large part
of space without a single living thing. Barren
worlds and gas giants. There seems to be a strange
energy pulse coming from the dead zone, disrupting
our scanners, so we can't see where it's coming from.
The few remaining Hentt'ar seem to know alot about it.
2281 A.D.
One of our scout probes found an unknown alien ship while
patrolling the dead zone. It didn't respond to hails, and
fired on the defenseless probe. One Hentt'ar finally came
forward with what was happening. The Hentt'ar homeworld
was destroyed by a race called the Uhlek. They believe that
the Uhlek is not many creatures, but one. It's so called
"Mind Ganglion", is a planet sized brain that communicates
with it's "bodies" threw the strange energy pulses. They
kill anything they see, and will destroy any alien device
they find. The Hentt'ar would not ever speak of them because
of how terrible the destruction of their planet was. As the planet
was overrun with Uhleks, one Hentt'ar shuttle escaped. As they
looked back, they saw the massive Mind planet approaching their
homeworld, open its increadably large mouth, and swallow it.
It spit the planet out neatly back into its orbit, wiped clean
of its crust. The Mind Ganglion, as they call it, only needs to
eat every 1000 years. The Uhleks ships are attacking us because
it is hungry. The Hentt'ar say when it is full, our part of the
Galaxy will look just like the dead zone. The only place safe
from the Uhleks, are Nebulas, or planets too big for the Ganglion
to swallow.
2298 A.D.
In response to the now full scale Uhlek invasion, the Galactic Empire
has put up a blockade against the Uhleks. Until now, it has held, but
it will not hold forever.....

Stars and systems are placed randomly. Areas where a star falls on a resorce are Newtron stars or Red Giants. All planets have a star next to them. Earth's sun is one of the few with more then 5 planets. Some stars have none.
Could I see the units/terrain/plot for your scenario? It looks good. PS what do you use oceans for? I use them for nebulas. I would like to see it. I'll send you mine too.

I use the sea terrain for the impassable terrain, there are no sea ship units, everything is land based or "helicopter" like. The impassable terrain is symbolic, it represents the many light years of deep space between solar systems =) Im thinking on making the first units act like helicopters, so they can pass this impassable terrain, but they'll only have a movement of 1 so they will take quite a few turns to reach the next system, some new tech will be discovered that will allow ships to go from one system to another through some kind of wormholes, these are located near the system's oort cloud, so these new units will have some greater movement, and "settlers" will be able to build "roads" (havent worked on the names for these yet)

The plot, I've only thought of the basics, and these are good enough to start with:
It starts when mankind has allready colonized the closest systems, no contact has been made with alien civilizations yet. But this doesnt mean it wont be interesting, how long it will be untill contact is made with aliens will depend on each civ's expansion. The United Terran Systems are the main force, they control Earth and the nearest systems, but they were not the only ones to send colonization missions, independant factions also launched from Earth and went exploring and colonizing the stars. So you have the Terran Systems (think of a federation, whatever), and 3 Houses (kinda like in BattleTech or dune), there will be conflicts between these.
As for the aliens, you will enconter another humanoid civilization, the greys who will be a friendly civ (they wont talk much), and an insectoid very bad civ (they wont talk much either, they'll just destroy everything they encounter). These last two civs are much more developed than the human civs, and the greys wont like the insects either. A good chain of events can be made with these civs.
