    Thanks again for explaining, McMonkey!

    I didn't realize that the alien city pics and map were from a prior scen in FW. Maybe I should change the pics so that it doesn't look like I'm copying too much?

      Anybody have time to help me?

      1) I need to know if there is a better way to get rid of barbs than making the units that pop up immovables.

      2) I'm also hoping that there is something that can switch off pollution. If not, I'll take up Agricola on his offer of hex-editing away global warming.

      3) Finally, I'm hoping for someone to take a stab at figuring out why my Hodad tech tree won't show up. Explanation:
      It is made up of seven techs, all previously Extra techs. I connect them together and to a Hodad specific tech in the original tech tree. I save as a scen. I load the scen, and all the techs are separate again, somehow reverted to their original unconnected state. If anybody wants to see this for themselves, just load the latest "beta version 1.0" attachment. It's actually an alpha version, but I forgot to change the name!

      If this tech problem is an unreparable error, is it possible to take the base techs (alphabet, etc.) and use them as Hodad techs?




      As soon as these are done, I'll post the real beta version with thoroughly tested, complete sound, for comments and ironing out any hidden bugs.

        CivTweak can set the barb level to 'villages only.' Then just eliminate all goodie huts, and they're gone.

            CivTweak is a utility that can be downloaded at Mercator's site:

            Mercator's Civilization 2 Utility Site

            There are some excellent programs available there. For me CivCity is indispensable! I can't remember how I made scenarios without it! CivTweak will alter the save file so the game will act like it was set at 'Village Only' from the start!

              YES! I've meticulously put together a beta version 1.01!

              Agricola, you once said that you would hex-edit away global warming. Yes pleasepleaseplease do it to my attached scen!

              I'll also attach my completed sound, the file attached here doesn't contain the scen itself, that will be in the following post.

                            This, I suppose, is my beta 1.1 . 1.01 didn't have pollution/global warming edited out. This is still a beta because I'm hoping for some better walker pics...

                                Sorry to say, but there are problems with your latest download.

                                I haven't checked in detail, but when I start the scen there are at least 3 city improvements that are not buildable when they should be:
                                Power Plant
                                Manufacturing Plant
                                Darwin's Voyage
                                The Resistance has the prerequisite techs for all.

                                Factory does not appear on the Pedia list of city improvements.

                                I can't get Mercator's TechCheck to work so I'm not sure whether the problem originates in the tech tree or elsewhere.


                                There are some additional questions that arise at first glance:
                                Are the Air Freights only meant to be disbanded for their shields?

                                With Behemoths A/D = 20/12 now being unbuildable, players will probably select RC Guardians A/D = 2/8 as the unit to build for city defense. I suspect that this will lengthen the defensive buildup phase. Is that what you want?
