BTW, has anyone ever retrieved the scenarios from the original SL site?

The links are of course long gone, and many of those scenarios seem to be gone too.

        Chris:
I see you never played Favoured Flight's LOTR trilogy.. D/L them asap and I bet you'll add them to the list of fantasy scens.

head over to http://spanish.apolyton.net/ > bestonnet > fantasy section and you'll find them:
The Fellowship of the Ring by Favoured Flight
Moria - A Journey in the Dark by Favoured Flight
The Return of the King by Favoured Flight

It can only be achieved by understanding"

Thanks for taking the time to post these lists Chris. I think I have seen most of them but I will take a closer look when I have a bit more time. There are many excellent scenarios hidden away on long forgotten sites. Casus Belli was one such scenario and I am sure there are more.

What I may do to begin with is create some kind of link system so that the Scenario League has a pretty much complete list of all the best scenarios, then I/the community can add individual pages as we get the time.

Today when I logged on to Apolyton there were new posts in 18 threads, thats the busiest I have ever seen the Poly Scenario Creation forum in my first year posting here!
              SCENARIO LEAGUE FORUM
              SCENARIO LEAGUE WIKI SITE
              SL INFORMATION THREAD
              CIV WEBRING MULTIPLAYER FORUM

The real gems are missing, I have to find away to get them off my old PC, that one had every scenario posted practically.

It would be nice if we could somehow find those from the old SL site, some of those were very good, only needing graphic updates.

Should have seen it during the hey day a few years ago.

There were problems whem Cam gave up running the SL, some people had become quite arrogant and snobbish, one guy told me I could not review scenarios because I didn't design them (a real laugh, since I am a professional game reviewer) and others tried to treat the league like a private club.

It's nice to see the league survived, Civ 2 is still the best engine for historical subjects, no other game has it's flexibility.

Frankly, good testers/reviewers are in short supply. IIRC, you helped quite a few.

The designers were the real talents, It was fun to help them realize their visions.

Exile and I used to exchange long emails when he had a new project going, what an amazing amount of detail resides in that man's mind, it's boggling.

The thing I am proudest of was inspiring John Valdez to make a series of Trek Scenarios that turned out really nice.

You can find Congo! on the Spanish Civ site or the Scenario Collection site. It's not on my own (ToT) site, since it's for FW/MGE.

I've made two scenarios for FW/MGE that have stood the test of time, so to speak. Aside from Congo!, Prince of Darkness (a fantasy/quest scenario) is also worth playing. It's also available on the same sites.

I think I remember a conversation about that topic: weren't you talking about the possibilities ToT would give to a ToT version of Prince of Darkness?

Yes, I'm in the process of updating it with new units from Fairline. I should be able to release it right after the updated Red October. I'm just in negotiations with my web host about back payments for my site.
